Mission 083 - The Ultimate Doom

tengusaur (01:25:42): Another Decepticon Space Bridge was discovered, located on an isolated tropical island. Considering what Megatron wanted to do with the previous one, that is use it to call in a large army, it's safe to assume they're going to do the same thing with this one.
tengusaur (01:25:50): Needless to say, we can't allow it to happen.
tengusaur (01:26:10): A quick attack force was assembled to destroy the Space Bridge. That's you.
tengusaur (01:26:50): You're already on the island, partially covered in rocky canyons and partially in a lush tropical forest. You can already see the installations surrounding the Space Bridge in the distance.
tengusaur (01:27:05): Heavy fortifications, mostly purple in color.
VJockey (01:27:25): [Optimus is standing by with his fellow Autobots.]

VJockey (01:27:56): "Megatron seems to have prepared for a major offensive..."
VJockey (01:28:15): "Whatever his plan is after recieving his reinforcments... it is surely to be a devastating one."
TormTerra (01:28:26): Kei is keeping her head down as she's still familiarizing herself with her temporary unit. A highly advanced, high-perfomance machine like that was possibly not the best choice for something to borrow while Purple-2 was getting repaired. "As long as we hit it quickly enough, nothing should happen."

TormTerra (01:33:01): Even without the advanced sensors and specialized command suite of the Purple-2, Kei is trying to keep as much of an eye on the battlefield that is coming up as possible. It feels vaguely uncomfortable to be in battle without all the information after using it for so long
VJockey (01:33:35): "There is a lot at stake... but I will not fault you if you wish to leave."
VJockey (01:34:21): "Even if the ranks of the Autobots had a number of civilians they had chosen to take the defense of others in their hands."
tengusaur (01:34:23): Well, it looks like the fortifications are surrounding the Space Bridge closely. And while you won't have to break through any walls to reach it, you'll probably have to defeat at least some defenders first. Also, the jungle is close to the Decepticon base, creating cover.
VJockey (01:34:34): "In the end, the choice is yours."
peter kampschroeder (01:35:40): Jen: "...Well, I feel like I gotta try this at some point? And I'd rather be shooting evil robots than people, or some kind of demon monsters..."
VJockey (01:36:29): "Then we will look out for you on the battlefield. All of us."

TormTerra (01:39:22): Kei: "I'm good. We trained with normal units at the academy, not the AHSMBs." Her voice has just a bit of edge to it and she doesn't sound altogether convinced

tengusaur (01:43:16): Raquel's question might soon be answered... Because as soon as you get close to the purple walls, a few turrets mounted on them turn towards you and open fire!
VJockey (01:43:27): Optimus: "Autobots! Roll out!"
tengusaur (01:43:39): But their shots are not very accurate and can be avoided easily... They're not the main thing to worry about! Something else this!

tengusaur (01:44:27): Starscream: "Fools! You should've known better than to attack us when Starscream, the master strategist, is in charge of defenses!"

TormTerra (01:45:27): Kei takes advantage of the fact that her current unit has actual legs, allowing her to stay down and under as much cover as a giant robot can realistically find rather than take to the skies and present a big, visible target. "...Are they trying to lure us into a false sense of security?"

cubey@aol.pl (01:48:49): *The Glory Star makes a short jump - with Setsuko aiming towards one of the turrets, and as the mobile suit makes its landing, the Carver slams into the fortification! Setsuko proceeds to take the place of the (hopefully) destroyed turret, aiming the Glory Star and sending quick projectiles flying at Decepticons who try to run interference.+
tengusaur (01:50:06): Setsuko slams into the turret, rendering it useless, and then shoots down one of the incoming Seekers and an Insecticon clone with quick shots, scattering a few more of them flying overhead.
VJockey (01:50:11): *Optimus is in truck mode, rushing on through as his trailer opens up to unfurl its turret which proceeds to launch missiles at the Insecticons! Not only that but Ratchet and Wheeljack were going to use the platform to fire on the move with their own guns!+
tengusaur (01:50:42): But then, suddenly, a glint in the jungle!
tengusaur (01:51:23): A golden-colored, giant robot-sized lion, jumps out of the foliage, trying to rend the Virgola apart with its claws! (react)
tengusaur (01:52:19): ???: "Fresh prey!"
tengusaur (01:54:07): Optimus and company shoot down a few of the Insecticons, gathering the attention of rest of them. Kickback and his clones descend down on them, with powerful dropkicks! (react)

tengusaur (01:55:28): The lion's claws leave marks into Setsuko's carver. Then, it transforms into a more humanoid form!
tengusaur (01:56:40): ???: "You never heard of Razorclaw? Remember that name. Know that I'm the leader of Predacons, and we're the ones who will be your end!"
VJockey (01:56:53): Wheeljack: "Why don't you kick back Kickback?!" *With that little quip Wheeljack launches a magnetic missile right into the middle of the insecticon swarm to both disorient them and get them off their backs!+
tengusaur (01:56:57): Several more Decepticons emerge from the jungle, standing alongside Razorclaw.

A voice booms over the general banter comm channel. "Ninja Blitz!" Lightning leaps through the air, and then from spike to spike!+

tengusaur (01:59:02): The attacking Insecticons are thrown into disarray by Wheeljack! Combined with the sudden counterattack, the Kickback clones are destroyed, while the original gets a few grazing hits before falling back. The whole swarm is now around half of its initial size.
tengusaur (01:59:15): It looks like you have sudden reinforcements.

TormTerra (02:01:10): * Rather than charge in, Kei takes a page from Ataru by staying low under cover and flipping the photon magnum on the Huckebein Omega to sniper mode before lining up a shot on Starscream himself. Hopefully it'd make him turn all his attention to his own safety rather than defeating them. +

peter kampschroeder (02:02:02): *Jen's still got that electromagnetic pistol that she whipped up last mission. She starts shooting the Predacons, going for shots on their center of mass wherever possible.+
aldo salt (02:02:04): A robotic turtle slides out from from one of the canyons and transforms into a humanoid shape…with a long scarf made from parachute cloth veiling its head's lower jaw. "Despair, Deception fools! The Ninjatacron Leonardis is here to smash your evil aims!"
aldo salt (02:02:12): Wait, isn't that...?

tengusaur (02:02:50): Starscream gets shot by Kei, receiving a shot that creates a smoking hole in his armor.
tengusaur (02:03:11): Starscream: "Sniping? No fair! This wasn't in my contract! Take care of her, will you!"
tengusaur (02:04:04): Starscream retreats behind a building, disappearing from sight, while two Seekers are flying towards the Hickebein in jet forms, peppering Kei's machine with lasers! (react)

TormTerra (02:05:33): * With the attack getting announced like that, Kei doesn't even need advanced sensors to spot it, instead jumping to the side weaving between the trees as she flips the photon magnum back to autofire to pepper them with fire as they move in closer. +
tengusaur (02:05:36): Jen's shots make most of the Predacons scatter. Most, because Rampage and Tantrum just rush in without paying attention to the attacks she launches at them, turn into a tiger and a bull respectively, and try to bull rush her! (react)

aldo salt (02:06:10): Dido [On a Private Channel to Optimus]: "Fair. Still, if these Decepticons think I'm something I'm not, that might give us an advantage. Maybe?"

VJockey (02:08:27): *Optimus is going to interrupt that Bull Rush with one of his own from the side! Moving at full speed to ram them! Ratchet and Wheeljack leave the trailer, transform and burn rubber to give the two Predacons the choice between being hit by a speeding truck, a speeding car... or getting hit by the WHAMbulance!+
tengusaur (02:08:40): One of the attacking Seekers gets shot up by many rounds fired by Setuko and Kei, and blows up. The other one swerves around, moving into defense rather than risking getting shot as well.
peter kampschroeder (02:09:15): *Jen runs to meet Tantrum's charge, Cethlenn's right fist wrapped in a whirling cloud of angry nanobot smoke-and drops into a slide at the last second, moving the smaller unit underneath the giant bull-and stabbing that disintegrating fist up into and along its belly as she slides.+

aldo salt (02:11:02): *"Leonardis" turns towards the nearest group of Insecticons. "Secret Technique: Ninja Death Ground!" She launches a volley of Arc Thorns that rain into the soil around the Decepticons, then projects a bolt of lightning that channels itself into the spikes and electrifies the ground!+
tengusaur (02:12:00): Seeing Ratchet approach, Rampage gets distracted and jumps away in a cat-like manner rather than getting hit. But Tantrum is more bull-headed, and there is a collision between him and Wheeljack. And Cethlenn as well, especially after that nanite punch hits the Decepticon right in the belly!
TormTerra (02:12:20): Kei: "I am. Keep an eye on the battlefield, I can't keep track of everything to look out for."
tengusaur (02:12:27): All three combatants are thrown around from the combined force of impact, each taking some damage.
cubey@aol.pl (02:12:58): Setsuko: "Yes... ah...!" She winces seeing the bumrush that's going on right now.

tengusaur (02:13:54): Four Insecticons are caught in the lightning field and destroyed, like bugs caught in a bug zapper. Only the originals are remaining now.
tengusaur (02:14:32): Shrapnel: "What! Electric attacks are my schtick! You stole it!"
tengusaur (02:15:21): Suddenly, something appears right behind Dido. It's Skywarp, who used his unique teleport power to make a short-range jump - and then fire at point blank with his energy blaster!

peter kampschroeder (02:15:35): "Ow, ow, ow..." Jen stuggles up to her feet, the smoke oozing out over Cethlenn and starting to patch up its wounds. "That got him, right?"
aldo salt (02:16:01): "…Of course!" Dido says in her best ninja voice. "Ninjas are masters of theft, after allWHOAH!"
tengusaur (02:16:01): Tantrum looks damaged, and temporarily stunned. Also very pissed off.
peter kampschroeder (02:16:26): Jen: "Aw, hell."
VJockey (02:16:54): "Don't be discouraged... it takes a while."
aldo salt (02:17:25): *Dido slams down on her panic button. "Ninja…er, Minefield!" Leonar…ShelLancer fires flak from its back-mounted armored plates at Skywarp! Also at point-blank range!+
aldo salt (02:18:08): "…I need to apologize to Ken after this." Dido mutters under her breath.
tengusaur (02:18:41): Skywarp is thrown back by the flak, suffering some armor damage! But so did ShelLancer, though at least it's inherently heavier armored.
tengusaur (02:18:53): Skywarp: "What are you, suidical?!"
tengusaur (02:19:05): On the bright side...
TormTerra (02:19:58): Kei: "..." No need to make the obvious comment here. But she's thinking it
tengusaur (02:19:59): With Starscream having retreated and the Decepticon numbers thinned out, you can easily push towards the Space Bridge! You can even vaguely see it from here, a large ring in the ground among the installations!

TormTerra (02:23:13): The huckebein begins moving out of the jungle, keeping to cover for as long as it can only initiating the tesla drive to break out of it when it reaches the wall.
VJockey (02:23:22): [Vroom Vroom Jen, There's a truck moving alongside you to give the Cethlenn something to use to speed up its travel towards the Decepticon Space Circle of Teleportation!]
aldo salt (02:23:50): Dido dashes forward with ShelLancer's Shell Boost, the closest thing ShelLancer has to a Ninja run.
peter kampschroeder (02:24:52): The smaller Cethlenn hops aboard the truck's trailer, reloading it's gun as it does so.
peter kampschroeder (02:25:02): Jen: "Well, let's...roll out?"
tengusaur (02:25:17): Most of the Decepticons are scattered and thrown into disarray for the time being. The only ones who pursue you are the Predacons - it looks like they ignore Tantrum and just go after you on their own, turning into various beasts.
VJockey (02:25:19): "I could not have said it better myself."
VJockey (02:25:37): [The Autobots gun it towards the Space Bridge!]

tengusaur (02:30:29): Slowly, a shape is appearing in the air... High above. It has to be in Earth's orbit, but it's humongous anyway.

VJockey (02:31:24): "Yes... it is Dido."
tengusaur (02:31:32): Megatron: "An army? Why would I want to do that? My plans have changed! Instead, I'm going to bring the who,e Cybertron in!"

VJockey (02:34:36): [To say this was a major dilemma for Optimus was an understatement. Save his homeworld and doom Earth, or save Earth and doom his homeworld...]
tengusaur (02:35:11): Megatron: "No. Cybertron will appear on a close orbit of Earth. A collision won't happen. Your planet will probably be sundered by gravity... But Cybertron is made from sterner stuff."
VJockey (02:35:25): [Optimus approaches the console....]

VJockey (02:38:25): [Optimus hits the switch... the teleportation will be completed....however! The Autobot leader turns to glare at the silver cybertronian.] "There is always a way. I can. And I will protect both Earth and Cybertron even if it costs me my life!"

Ginkan SK (03:04:44): Raquel sees there's a lot of enemies ocmming in and she's now going to target some of the other cons to keep them of her allies back. The seekers would soon find that she's attemping to take them down. She knows how hard a transformer is to actually kill so she's just trying to render them unable to fight as it's quicker she's going to be making heavy use of her thusters and a lot of jumps between seekers and to just keep up with them. Her forms of attack melee what else would you expect from the girl from Brazil?+

peter kampschroeder (03:05:43): *"Alright..." looking the giant robot dinosaur up and down, Jen's earlier rage subsides fast. "Okay...you can do this...Um...believe in yourself...*gulp*..." Cethlenn sets off into a run towards the dinosaur robot, its grappling hooks flying through the air and up to different points on the giant dinosaur mosnter. "Here I come!"&
tengusaur (03:06:30): Raquel's attacks smash into a few of the Seekers, sending them to the ground one after another. Five of them are rendered unable to fight anymore, and the rest scatters temporarily!
TormTerra (03:06:51): * For her own part, Kei turned her attention to the giant dinosaur. They needed to at least keep it occupied if they were to hold out for any length of time. Rather than try to plink away with smaller weapons, she moved the huckebein's arms forward to start the movement to form the Omega Cannon aimed squarely at its right knee. "Look out everyone." And with that she dug in and fired an immense gravitaty blast at it, hoping to blow the support out from under it. +
tengusaur (03:06:57): But then, Thundercracker suddenly jumps towards her, smashing repeatedly with powerful and very quick punches!

tengusaur (03:08:41): Bad news - seeing the comparatively tiny unit approaching, Trypticon opens his mouth. You can see light flaring inside for a brief moment before a large beam fires from inside!

tengusaur (03:09:46): The gravity blast hits Trypticon straight in the center, making the giant robot dinosaur stumble on its feet for a brief moment. It turns its head around, trying to catch the Huckebein in its radiation breath as well! (react)

tengusaur (03:13:09): Dido zaps Predaking, and while the giant combiner takes damage, it doesn't seem to notice. It brings her arms towards her, trying to grab and crush ShelLancer.

peter kampschroeder (03:13:34): *Jen pulls on those grappling hooks, HARD! She definitely does not want to be in the path of that beam with her size! But it's stumbling and shifting it's aim, hopefully letting her zip up to the robot's back. Grappling hooks detach, retract while Jen free-falls, then reattach further up the robot. That nanite cloud rips into Trypticon's back as Jen zips up along it, gathering material into a long, cylinder sort of shape...When she reaches the top, Cethlenn points the cylinder-now much larger than the robot itself-straight into the air, and chucks it upwards.

aldo salt (03:15:38): "Oh geez…Shell Up!" Dido transforms ShelLancer into its turtle form, lowering its profile. "And Shell Boost!" ShelLancer zips foreward, trying to dash beneath the Predaking's legs and to safety!+
tengusaur (03:15:59): That force also makes several warning sign appear in Jen's cockpit... But she manages to create the improvised missile! It hits the giant robot dinosaur straight in the face,causing an explosion that makes it take a step back!

tengusaur (03:16:28): It doesn't even seem that heavily damaged. But definitely angry.

cubey@aol.pl (03:33:52): "Full BURST!" *There goes the oversized beam, fired at the center of Predaking's mass. It is large enough to be spread across a wave of smaller enemies, but for the combiner - it's all centered in one point.+
tengusaur (03:34:52): One of the Seekers is downed by Ratchet's shots. More importantly, Megatron is hit by Optimus' shot, though he launches his own beam from his cannon while dashing sideways for cover. Also...

tengusaur (03:35:24): Megatron: "Took you long enough, Starscream!"
tengusaur (03:36:11): Megatron transforms into a gun, small enough for a Transformer to hold! Starscream fires it, and the blast is surprisingly big and powerful! It's going to cover Optimus, Ratchet, and possibly the autobot scientists too!
tengusaur (03:36:29): To make it worse, the tidal wave crashes into the base, flooding everything!

peter kampschroeder (03:37:20): *Jen throws a grappling hook to one of the walls, pulling herself up and hopefully out of the way of the oncoming wall of water. "Did he just shrink?!"+
TormTerra (03:37:47): * And any hope of getting away before the wave hit and backup plans were necessary were dashed. Once it started breaking on the shoreline behind them, Kei fires up the tesla drive to return to the skies above it. +
VJockey (03:38:00): *Optimus isn't going to move out of the way if it means the others are going to get hurt. He does his best to shield the others from the shot. Hopefully the rushing waters will take care of the rest of the blast.+

tengusaur (03:38:21): Seeing Setsuko fly away, Predaking readies its double cannons, trying to fire at her. But this doesn't happen, because before he can ready the shot, suddenly she fires her own, huge beam, which hits the combiner straight in the center!
tengusaur (03:38:34): Predaking: "Impossible...! Predaking cannot..."
tengusaur (03:38:50): Then the wave crashes over it. The combiner disappears underwater.
tengusaur (03:39:42): However, suddenly another huge beam flies towards the Virgola! It's Devastator, standing to its waist in the water, carrying a huge beam rifle and shooting it! (react)

Sweeping her gun to aim at him, she doesn't fire, instead sending the fang slasher flying, angling it straight at the center of his body while keeping a close watch of it to adjust its trajectory based on his movement. +

tengusaur (03:44:27): The spear stabs into Devastator's arm, sending electric current crawling over it. The combiner's aim is thrown horribly off mark, and Setsuko dodges without difficulty.
tengusaur (03:44:58): Devastator stares at the newcomer with a wide-mouthed, surprised expression.
Wyverncakes (03:45:19): And Flit just brandishes the spear at the larger machine.
aldo salt (03:45:53): "…Flit!" Dido shouts in relief. "Nice new duds!" She witnesses his electric spear attack. "…sweet! How long did it take your AGE Builder to crank that out?"
peter kampschroeder (03:46:07): *Desperately needing a place to land, Jen picks-Grimlock! A grappling hook here, and Cethlenn takes a mounted position on Grimlock's back-leaving its hands free to throw more rail pistol shots at the Insecticons and Seekers. "So, uh, I heard you like smashing?"+

tengusaur (03:48:33): Megatron emerges from the water and jumps atop a nearbly flat building. "Come back, you coward!"
VJockey (03:48:50): Grimlock: "Me Grimlock smash all Decepticons!" *That would be a yes. And Grimlock along with the other Dinobots soon support Jen's railgun shots with... fire. They are breathing fire at the insecticons and seekers. Except for Swoop. He's launching wing missiles AND breathing fire!+

TormTerra (03:51:39): * Already in the air, Kei put the advertised mobility of the huckebein to the test by spinning and speeding up to fly away from the direction of the shots and in parallel with Starscream. She takes potshots in his direction while moving. +

tengusaur (03:53:39): Thundercracker raises his arms in a block, but Raquel's chi-infused strikes are still slowly overcoming his defense, and his body amasses further damage. "There is no name. Just pure skill and strength!" Suddenly he breaks his guard and there are two pistols in his hands! He fires two beams from a melee range! (Raquel react)
tengusaur (03:55:26): Between Jen and the dinobots launching a furious assault, five or six of the attacking Deceptions are smashed and defeated! There rest of them are evading rather than risking a direct confrontation. Looks like their morale is very low at this point.
tengusaur (03:56:19): Kei evades the shots, but so does Starscream - he focuses on escaping rather than making sure anything he fires hits, at this point. He disappears inside the Nemesis' hangar, and a few shots from the battleship's turrets keep the Huckebein at bay long enough to let him do that.
tengusaur (03:56:54): Good news: the Autobot scientists reach the Bridge and start working on it!
tengusaur (03:57:09): Perceptor: "Excellent! If my theory is correct..."

The Starks' thrusters fire up and the machine swings its spear forward again. "Big targets like you are what this form was meant for...!" And then it fires forward again to devestate Devestator's arm!+

tengusaur (04:12:54): The Insecticons are first zapped by the same attack their leader launched, and ten bombarded with flak! They're shot apart and barely hold themselves together!

VJockey (04:14:00): *Well Megatron, between Setsuko and Optimus you're going to have a hard time! Optimus tears towards the Decepticon leader and leaps towards him, using the Wheeljack, robo-surfboard as a temporary shield from the shot before tossing it aside and clotheslining Megatron as Setsuko's gunshot undoutably launches the tyrant off her weapon!+
tengusaur (04:14:37): Devastator's hand hits the AGE Gundam, and starts to crush it... But before it can inflict any real damage, the spear hits right into his arm, blowing a huge hole in it and throwing the whole limb backwards!
aldo salt (04:15:59): Dido throws a mocking salute in her cockpit at the Insecticons. "Yeah, that's right: go and bug out!"
tengusaur (04:16:07): Megatron is clothes-lined by Optimus' attack, throwing his aim off for a second - and before he has a chance to recalibrate his shot, he's stabbed in the side. And shot. The explosion throws him away, into the water.

Ginkan SK (04:22:11): Raquel watches Thudercracker leaves there is a newfound respect for her foe. She has to wonder about him but she's still been damanged but she'll live, right?
tengusaur (04:22:30): Thundercracker: "...Our fight today was a good one. I will consider it a draw. Mark my words! We'll have a rematch at some point!"
