This is the IC timeline of important events that happened in the game. It's a constant work in progress - if you think something should be added here, feel free to mention that in a comment!
Timeline
The currently used calendar uses the Accordant Era notations, AE for short.
AE 1:
First space colonies established. A new era for humanity starts as humans now live both on Earth and in space.
AE 64:
The Great Black Void activates and starts its efforts to replace life on Earth with its own creations. An organization known as Solaris would fight it (mostly) in secret for 10 years, ending in the Void's destruction.
AE 69:
War between the Space Revolutionary Army and United Nations Earth starts. It will last for a year, before alien and monster attacks force it to stop.
First Wulgaru attack on remote human colonies. To fight them, the MJP project changes its priority from space exploration to super-soldiers.
AE 70:
Day the Angel Fell. Aliens dubbed as Unknown Enemy attack and destroy the space colony Angel, then disappear.
The first BETA hives impact on Earth, taking control of a few places in eastern Europe and Asia, including the island of Sadogashima.
AE 73:
The K-Day. The first Kaiju, Trespasser, attacks San Francisco. Between the monster's rampage and the nukes used to kill it, the city is turned to ruins.
Soon after the K-Day, the first PRAYER appears. It's not overwhelmingly strong but regenerates from all damage suffered, until an organization later known as the Executors finds a way to kill it for good.
AE 74:
A gigantic, unmanned alien ship is found on Earth. The ship is dubbed Macross and refurbishing it for human use starts. The work would take 10 years.
AE 77:
Second Unknown Enemy attack on the space colony Ovan, causing heavy casualties.
AE 78:
The spaceship Hiryu embarks on a mission to explore space beyond the Solar system. It's attacked by mysterious aliens later dubbed Aerogaters and forced to turn back.
AE 79:
The Yokohama Incident. BETA attack the city through burrowing. High civilian casualties. The BETA were repelled through the use of the newly developed G-Bomb.
AE 82:
First Meganoid attack on humans.
AE 83:
The Divine Crusaders uprising starts and is quelled after a period of intense fighting.
AE 84:
April - Unity Group officially becomes operational.
The underground world of La Gias is discovered. Its presence is kept secret from the public.
The alien robot races of Autobots and Deceptions reveal their presence.
May - As SDF Macross begins its maiden voyage, it's suddenly attacked by a previously unknown alien race of giants and forced to fold away from Earth.
A black dome appears over the town of Shin Tanoura. Soon, horrible monsters emerge from it. The monsters are destroyed, but the dome remains.
Lady's Good Men make their presence known and attack Unity Group for the first time, demanding the technology of TSEN to be given up.
Deep in space, SDF Macross encounters the hostile alien forces of Kaiser Belial, as well as a friendly Ultraman who fights them.
Between an attack on Earth and an official announcement from the PEP ambassador, the existence of Gebians became known to the world - both the friendly PEP and the hostile AEP.
The first attack by the Kijin, a race of interdimensional creatures.
June - aggressive Shura appear on Earth for the first time.
After a long period of inactivity, Aerogators resume their attacks on Earth.
A trio of freelance fighters led by Apollonius "Loni" Gavin starts helping Unity Group.
July - the first attack by the mysterious Indalph. They kidnap and possibly kill Sara Harper.
Yancy Beckett gets killed during the Anchorage operation by a Kaiju named Knifehead.
Kanade Amou sacrifices herself to save her friends and a whole lot of civilians from a Noise horde.
