Mission 115 - Betrayal at Luna Base

tengusaur (00:49:12): Negotiations with Vagans at Luna Base broke down.
tengusaur (00:49:43): The base's commander, Aaron Simmons, turned out to be a Vagan defector. The base is currently in their hands.

tengusaur (00:51:07): The situation required a quick response. A plan was formed.
tengusaur (00:52:24): Several small teams would approach the base, trying to break into it and secure it. Rescuing Olfenoa and destroying enough of the Vagan forces would mean the main ESUN fleet can move in.

Wyverncakes (01:04:09): * With no hesitation, the AGE-1 Sparrow charges in, Shigeru Blade flashing as it dashed by the closest Vagan suit for a quick slash, and then a full stab into an Adele's chest!+
Fri Freeman (01:04:20): Walt: "I'll show you what normals can do. Show them what I mean by that, team!." Walt lead his genoace team forward.
Fri Freeman (01:05:38): Walt:"but don't be too eager to show them too, you're just normals... Follow Flit and give him support."
tengusaur (01:06:07): The Dorado tries to dodge the attack, but it can't keep up with Sparrow's speed, and Flit's blade cuts through both of the targets, destroying them! But, from afar, the Abigel aims the beam bazooka in its tail, and fires at the Gundam! (react)
Fri Freeman (01:07:07): Walt's team follow Flit's lead and open wide fire with their dods gun, shooting at things that Flit misses or threatens him.+
Wyverncakes (01:07:58): * Flit's seen those new models in action once before, and their performance did not leave him impressed. As the tail takes aim, Flit already was having the Sparrow spring away with a little extra help from the moon's lower gravity!+
tengusaur (01:08:42): Walt and company keep the rest of the Vagan units at bay, blowing up one of the Adeles. But the rest of them take minor damage at best - and the two Dorados, protected by electromagnetic armor in their arms, rush forward, swinging beam blades! (react)
tengusaur (01:10:04): Flit manages to escape the large beam, dodging upwards quickly.
tengusaur (01:10:16): And, while he jumps so high up, he notices something incoming.

Fri Freeman (01:19:57): Walt: "Well I guess that counts as character growth." Walt's team moonrun to mooncover and start moonshoot the moonreinforcement, hoping to hit as many random target as possible
Wyverncakes (01:20:08): * There is no way Flit was just going to let Desil being alive still stand. Not after everything he's done. Not after what the Vagans were doing *now*. WIth no hesitation the Sparrow rocketed towards the Khronos, knee cannons popping open to fire on the Vagan suit from a distance before the Gundam's thruusters kicked in for a vicious spinning slash!+
tengusaur (01:21:47): Two of the Dorados fall to the mass of beams shot by Walt and his wingmen, while the rest of the Vagans scatter. But that's only the Mobile Suits - the Fa Zeos suddenly targets the Genoace team, and sends a barrage of beam shots right at their direction! (react)
tengusaur (01:22:14): Flit is going towards the Khronos... But suddenly there's a wall in front of him!
tengusaur (01:23:07): A wall formed by Abigels and Defurses! And while one of the red Vagan machines is cut deeply and explodes, the rest of them start charging their chest-mounted beam cannons, and open fire at him from close distance! (react)
tengusaur (01:23:34): The thick armor of the enemies causes lots of strain on the Shiguru Blade...

cubey@aol.pl (01:27:28): *Several whirling blades fly through space - as the Fa Zeos' guns deploy to shoot, they aim towards them, trying to cut their barrels down and wreck their internals to lessen the strain of gunfire. The rippers are moving with speed and precision, hard to find in normal remotely controlled Slash Rippers...+
Aero (01:28:04): * "Watch out!" Two large circular blades fly towards the Vagan machines, glowing brightly with green energy as they soar through and attempt to cut apart the Vagan machines before they fired at the Gundam. +
tengusaur (01:28:27): The slash rippers cut into several of the battleship's turrets, blowing them up and lessering the amount of beamspam going towards Walt and his team considerably. (Walt still has to react though)
tengusaur (01:29:14): another pair of blades goes towards the Vagan machines, cutting deeply into one of the Abigels and slashing right through it!

cubey@aol.pl (01:29:49): The rippers retreat back towards a white Gespenst, standing atop of a moon rock.
tengusaur (01:30:47): Flit manages to evade the incoming mass of huge beams... But not completely. The Sparrow frame received some damage in the process. Furthermore, the Shiguru Blade had a dangerously large amount of strain put on it...
Aero (01:31:01): The second pair of rippers return to another similar looking white Gespenst.

tengusaur (01:39:39): The Genoace team manages to hide from the thinned out beams behind some moon rocks. The rocks are in a bit of a sorry shape, but who cares.
cubey@aol.pl (01:39:48): *The t-link rippers are released again - they form a circular formation around the Gespenst, and then fly off! They assault the big Defurse, cutting into its tall and thin legs from the sides and threatening to do the same to other Vagan suits that are near.

cubey@aol.pl (01:40:35): "I'm Bryanne Eriksen, and the two of us are here to help! We're with SSR... well, used to be!" *And to punctuate her last statement, the pilot fires a beam rifle round into the mobile armor's knee!+
tengusaur (01:42:22): The Defurse is thrown off-balance as its thin legs are under attack! It takes damage, especially to the tail (it might be unable to use its mounted beam cannon now), but it's still combat-capable.
Aero (01:42:43): * The other Gespenst on the other hand has the T-Link Rippers circle around her as she charges towards the other Defurse, firing a barrage of bullets from a M95 Machine Gun as she closes in to let the rippers do their work on the oversized Vagan suit. +
Fri Freeman (01:42:50): Walt: "Humanity... Such a destructive force. No land can keep pristine after we step, on earth or out of earth... "
tengusaur (01:43:05): And at the same time, a few of the Dorados and Adeles move in, trying to surround Bryanne and peppering her with lots of blasts from beam machine guns! (react)

Wyverncakes (01:44:36): * The Sparrow comes charging in to try to help out the newcomers, blade flashing as it tries to cut its way through one side of the mooks so Bryanne can have a direction to fall back towards!+

tengusaur (01:45:14): The other Defurse gets hit by a lot of shots, but tanks most of them with its electromagnetic armor... It starts to show damage, but suddenly it leaps high up, and from the air fires a huge beam from its chest-mounted blaster at Rani! (react)
cubey@aol.pl (01:45:32): *The Gespenst fires two cannisters from its back - they spread into a barrage of split missiles, and under their cover Bryanne tries to duck behind a large rock!+

tengusaur (01:46:47): Under all the pressure put on the knife...

Fri Freeman (01:47:48): "not that being my wingman gives you better protect tion or something though. But still..."
tengusaur (01:47:58): Bryanne jumps away, a few of the beams grazing her Gespenst, but her missiles blow up the previously-damaged Dorado.

Wyverncakes (01:48:15): Third time this has happened...
Wyverncakes (01:48:27): And Desil was still on the scene.
tengusaur (01:48:30): Desil: "Ha ha! What now, Flit?!"
Wyverncakes (01:48:41): "I'll show you, Desil!"
Wyverncakes (01:48:55): And if he wanted to just throw up a big wall of meatshields for protection, there was a way around that too!
cubey@aol.pl (01:49:31): Bryanne: "Ah. That looked really bad just now, the weapon breaking. Are you okay?"
Wyverncakes (01:49:46): * Flit keys in a command for the Titus parts to come, but he had to buy time for it as well. Reluctantly the Sparrow starts falling back, still using its knee cannons on the Abigels to keep them away... "I'll be fine in just a moment, just keep them off me!" &
Fri Freeman (01:50:42): Walt:"leave the wall of irrelevant enemies to us irrelevant friends, Flit. Go focus on that murderous psychopath!"
tengusaur (01:51:07): The Abigel targetted by Flit jumps away, firing a beam from its tail right at the Gundam. It mostly focuses on dodging though. (react/continue)
Fri Freeman (01:51:37): Walt's tam stands up and try to keep the enemy away from Flit by shooting around him+
Aero (01:52:19): * "Need to be safe here..." Knowing that her Gespenst would not last long against that beam, Rani pushes the thruster controls forward to get the Personal Trooper out of the way. +
tengusaur (01:52:29): Walt's team keeps the rest of the enemies away with their cover fire. They blow up one of the Adeles, too.
Wyverncakes (01:53:14): * That beam was going to be falling short of its target as the AGE-1's arms and legs were ejected just in time for the Titus parts to arrive and attach themselves! "Alright... now let's do this Desil!" Titus charged forward again, fists clenched as he punched at the Khronos!+
tengusaur (01:53:20): However, the previously unbalances Defurse returns to the fray and rushes forward, charging its chest-mounted cannon! It's about to fire at the Genoace team! (Walt react)
Fri Freeman (01:53:58): Walt:"Scatter!"
tengusaur (01:54:02): Between her skills and the high performance of the Gespenst, Rani manages to avoid the blast.

tengusaur (01:55:01): Flit manages to avoid the beam and is now flying straight at Desil, ready to punch!
tengusaur (01:55:02): But...
tengusaur (01:55:30): Khnoros dodges abruptly to the side, the strike leaving only a long, thin and shallow gash in its armor.
tengusaur (01:55:55): And suddenly, the air between the two is full of beams! The Dorados and Adeles start swarming around quickly, taking aim at Flit! (react)
Wyverncakes (01:56:13): Flit: "Ah..>!"
Fri Freeman (01:56:22): Walt: "Try to have at least one survivor, team, so there'll be someone to avenge later.'" Walt says as his team scatter to all direction while shooting defensively at the charging mech.+
tengusaur (01:56:25): Desil: "You think I'm out of tricks? I know all weapons you have and what they can do!"
griefgathering (01:56:33): *Charging that chest cannon might prove to be a bit difficult now, because that Defurse suddenly comes under a hail of Photon beam fire from another direction!+
Wyverncakes (01:56:38): "Desil...!"
tengusaur (01:57:25): The blasts sent in its direction throw the Defurse off in a small explosion, causing its beam to fly high into space and not hit anything!
griefgathering (01:57:32): The unit responsible is a lone Huckebein Mk II M.

Wyverncakes (01:57:36): * Titus might not have as much speed, but it has plenty of power! Power Flit is going to stake his life in as he grabs at the closest two mooks, one for each hand before throwing them into the crowd!+

cubey@aol.pl (01:59:44): *The Gespenst's whole body seems to crack as its small directional verniers flare up. Brye tries to use the cover she just hid behind - for offense! The rock is lifted up and thrown at the attacking mobile suits, to make them fall about like bowling pins!+

tengusaur (02:00:34): Good thing is - between the mighty arms going on their direction and the giant rock flying at them, the Vagan units scatter.
tengusaur (02:01:01): But none of them take more than minor damage, and Flit doesn't manage to get a good hold at any of them! They're fast machines, especially when controlled by Desil...
tengusaur (02:01:09): Much faster than Titus.
Wyverncakes (02:01:51): Yeah, Flit's seething inside of his cockpit right now.
Wyverncakes (02:02:30): Speed and piercing power, he needed both speed AND power!
Aero (02:03:00): * Rani takes aim at the Vagan mobile armor above her and begins to unload shot after shot from her machine gun. This was merely to keep the machine in place as her rippers swung around and attempted to tear into it from behind. +
cubey@aol.pl (02:03:32): *The Gespenst spins in its position, turning that movement into a forward boost. While flying towards the damaged Defurse, Bryanne fires again and again, aiming at the damaged limbs once more.+

tengusaur (02:04:24): The accumulated damage on the Defurses is too much, and the Slash Rippers cut through both of them, blowing the mobile armors up! That's two points for the newcomers...
tengusaur (02:05:08): But the Fa Zeos is still around up in the black sky. It starts to charge up its two-barreled beam cannon, and then fires it at the Gespensts! (react)
griefgathering (02:05:48): *Cobray goes for the damaged Defurse. One more unit out of the fight means one less unit capable of attacking allies. A compartment on the MP Huckebein's forearm opens up, revealing a small wheel-like device with spikes on it. "Chakram Shooter...!" It's released like a deadly yoyo - slashing across the Defurse from a range!+

tengusaur (02:09:18): The Chakram Shooter pierces right through the Abigel, destroying it. But for his trouble Cobray suddenly finds himself the target of two Adeles, which drop down at him and try to cleave him apart with beam sabers! (react)
Wyverncakes (02:09:50): There was stilll one configuration still on the table. His one shot at taking Desil on with someth never seen before...
Wyverncakes (02:10:01): Flit: ""Desil... it's over!!"
Wyverncakes (02:10:38): The command was keyed in for the Starks pack, and the AGE-1 sprang back into the air as it came in...
Wyverncakes (02:11:49): * One more quick change later and the AGE-1 Starks floated above the surface of the moon, brandishing its lance at tthe Khronos before its thrusters all fired as one, the Gundam launching out like a bullet aimed straight at the Vagan child!+
Wyverncakes (02:12:03): "Huaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!"
griefgathering (02:12:40): *"...!" Cobray pulls back on the controls, and the Huckebein suddenly jukes in that direction. He's not going to let the Adeles just come close without retaliating though, so the Chakram Shooter is reeled back in and swung across their positions, while Beam Sword is drawn in defense!+
tengusaur (02:12:54): A few of the Vagan mook suits are going after the Starks, but Flit easily outruns them! The Khronos is trying to do the same, but Starks catches up to it!
tengusaur (02:12:57): Desil: "..."
tengusaur (02:14:00): But suddenly, at the last moment, Khronos quickly jumps to the side, evading Starks' attack... And then extends two beam sabers from its arms, cutting with them ferociously at the Gundam's side! (react)
tengusaur (02:14:06): Desil: "Die, Flit!!"
tengusaur (02:15:17): The returning Chakram Shooter manages to bite into one of the Adeles, severing it in two. Cobray blocks the attack of the other one with his beam sword, but now he's stuck in a melee clash with the opponent...
tengusaur (02:15:41): Bryanne avoids the incoming beam blast.
tengusaur (02:15:52): (Bryanne and Cobray can move, Rani can move after her react)
Wyverncakes (02:16:35): * X-Rounder powers were all Flit could work wiith now, spinning his spear around to parry the blows!+

Aero (02:18:33): * "Darn it." Rani decides to not go for the safe option like her partner and instead attempts to weave in and out of the shots before sending both of her T-Link Rippers directly towards the ship. She had to disable the rest of its weapons. +

Suddenly, the Mk II M's head vulcans come to life - spraying shells in the Adele's general direction. But this is meant as a distraction, because a Cold Metal Knife is drawn as well to slash across the enemy's arm!+

Aero (02:38:15): * Rani counters the beams fired by Desil with her own, fired by a mega beam rifle. With the remote controlled machines flocking in towards them she gets next to Brye and then... "Got it...T-Link Full Contact!" The T-Link System roars awake and a large field of green energy begins to build around her Gespenst before being sent out to hit all the remote controlled Vagan units and shatter Desils control over them. +

tengusaur (02:40:33): Thanks to lots of covering fire, none of the Vagan units manage to hit anything here. Desil quickly gets out of the way though, the Khronos avoiding both Flit's lance and Rani's beam fire. It's an agile machine.

tengusaur (02:41:42): Bryanne and Rani manage to find the psychic waves Desil uses to control the other Vagan machines... And they disrupt them! The devil kid's control is severed!

tengusaur (03:03:18): Khronos quickly jumps away... But doesn't evade fully, and the telekinetic blade leaves a gash in its armor. Desil counters by firing the beam cannons mounted on his unit's shoulders - and the Dorados are already moving in to assist with their own fire! (react)
Aero (03:04:29): * Rani joins in on Cobray's barrage, unleashing her own bombardment of solid and beam fire from her weapons, intent on emptying her ammo here and now if it meant cleaning up the rest of the Vagans. +
tengusaur (03:05:23): Cobray and Rani pepper the attackers with fire, shooting down two Dorados and two Adeles, and blowing them up with large explosions. But the battleship takes aim and fires a barrage of beams in their direction, from what few guns it has left! (react)

Hard to shoot accurately here, especially since Bryanne continues to move!+
Wyverncakes (03:07:38): * The Razor springs forward, the sudden difference in weight throwing Flit off! For all of a few moments before he adjusted to it. And his focus was locked onto the Khronos, taking aim with the Razor's new DODS weapon. "You won't be dodging this!" A pull of the trigger, and out came not a single DODS blast, but a slew of them, cutting across the lunar skies at the Khronos!+
Wyverncakes (03:07:54): Sure they would be a bit weaker than the DODS Rifle, but quantity would make up for quality!
tengusaur (03:08:39): In the chaos that follows, Brye manages to shoot down one of the Adeles, while avoiding the enemy fire pretty much completely.
tengusaur (03:09:00): Speaking of chaos, you can see beam fire in the background, at the Luna Base!
griefgathering (03:09:15): *Cobray might not be a psychic, but one thing he does have going for him as a primarily ranged combatant is very good aim. "Over there..." The Huckebein dashes off to one side in an evasive maneuver, but it also releases its grip on the G-Railgun temporarily, to draw, and throw, the Cold Metal Knife! The flung weapon heads straight toward one of the battleship's turrets!+
tengusaur (03:09:28): While you kept a large number of the defenders occupied, one of the other teams managed to get inside!
Aero (03:09:52): * Rani moves her Rippers back to her side and uses the remote weapons as a makeshift defense as she attempts to thrust back down towards the surface to avoid those beams +
tengusaur (03:10:33): Cobray's accurately-thrown knife penetrates the turret, blowing it up and shaking the whole ship. Whatever beams might still hit him or Rani are blocked by the latter's blade-shield.
tengusaur (03:11:12): Desil tries to avoid the incoming blasts, and while he manages to avoid the first one or two, the rest hit him, pummeling his machine more and more and scorching it despite its electromagnetic shield!
tengusaur (03:11:31): Desil: "Argh! I have a much bigger beam! Let me show you!!"
tengusaur (03:12:09): The Khronos starts to gather energy in its chest-mounted Beam Buster, and then releases it in a huge blast, aiming straight at the Razor!

tengusaur (03:17:40): The beam shot hits the battleship straight on, penetrating its armor and causing a chain of explosions on its surface. It starts to slowly crash down into the surface of the Moon.
griefgathering (03:17:54): *After retrieving the G-Railgun, Cobray and the Mk. II M seek to take out the remaining mook suits. Photon Rifle fire spreads across the enemy positions, but these are targeted at debris and other floating objects that may explode to obscure vision...&
tengusaur (03:18:30): Hard to say if any of its crew evacuated. Especially since the remaining mooks are moving in to attack with tail-mounted beam rifles! (react)
tengusaur (03:19:24): Cobray's shot raises a lot of dust, obscuring the enemy's vision. The remaining Adele tries to shoot at him with its beam gun, inaccurate as it is due to these conditions! (react/continue)

tengusaur (03:21:54): Brye avoids the shots fired by the Dorados. They scorch the destroyed hull of the battleship, but her own Gespenst is unharmed.

griefgathering (03:22:28): *The Mk II M banks away sharply while the dust cover is still up, to escape the enemy's line of sight. It re-emerges to their flank, visor glowing green...
griefgathering (03:23:50): *And then the Chakram Shooter goes on rampage - slicing across the enemies. At the same time, Cobray draws the Beam Sword again to slash at targets up close!+
Aero (03:29:15): *With her ammo expended Rani is forced to charge at the nearest target with her Rippers still circling around her. Relying on them to tear up anything she got near. +
Wyverncakes (03:30:12): * With Desil on the ropes, Flit knew he wasn't going to let him just get away this time. The AGE-1 holds out its hand as its razor sword returns, both blades being returned to their places on the Gundam's arms as it charges in again. "Desil, if you want me... here I am!" With a sweep of its hand, the Gundam slashes at the Khronos's midsection!+
tengusaur (03:30:34): Attacked by Cobray from the flank (what a tricky maneuver) and by Rani from up front, the remaining Vagan suits have no chance. Without Desil to control them, they fall one after another, blown up after getting ripped apart by the various blades.
tengusaur (03:31:52): Desil draws both of his beam sabers, trying to meet Flit's powerful blade and overpower it! "Good! Let me shred you, Flit! Shred to pieces!"

tengusaur (03:35:43): Desil's machine is cut apart by the sudden maneuver! With most of its limbs and lower body hacked off, there's maybe half of the Khnoros left!
tengusaur (03:36:16): But Desil doesn't give up... The only remaining beam cannon is already slowly targetting the Gundam.
