tengusaur (20:10:28): Who could forget. We're still looking for the perpetrator. Whoever did this has to answer for what he's done.
tengusaur (20:11:01): As it turns out... Unity Group is not the only one looking for him. So is Chimera, in an attempt to show their goodwill and clean their name.
tengusaur (20:11:11): And recently, they sent us a message.
tengusaur (20:11:15): Because they found him.
tengusaur (20:11:58): The location is deep within the wild, in North America. No bases or settlements around.
tengusaur (20:12:19): What exactly will you find there? There's only one way to find out.
tengusaur (20:13:12): A squad was sent to apprehend him - without starting a fight, if possible, but you get your mecha just in case. You were given one sentence of advice:

TormTerra (20:15:39): Kei was back in Purple-2, the first time in a while and given what had happened the last time she used the Huckebein, it felt good to be back in her nice, comforting personal unit.
Wyverncakes (20:16:31): Selena and Albhard both have their Game Faces on, Soleares and Grungust at the ready.
Wyverncakes (20:16:38): And more importantly...
tengusaur (20:16:49): Your group makes its way through a wide canyon, covered in pretty thick vegetation. Flying units have advantage in movement here, but it's also hard to see much canyon from the air. It's as if the perpetrator chose this place as a hideout on purpose.

Meraxa (20:17:52): Ken carefully traces his way through the canyon, moving on all fours in Beast Mode. ScarleTiger seems almost at home, if not for well, being a giant robot.

tengusaur (20:19:06): Kei detects a large unit not that much ahead, deeper within the canyon. Is it a battleship? It's floating close to the ground, in any case. Also there are a few smaller units around.

Wyverncakes (20:28:03): * Grungust and Soleares drop down and begin moving in, Boost Knuckles surging out as the Soleares draws the Blade Railgun and fires precise shots into the line of Jenices!+
cubey@aol.pl (20:28:17): *So much for a diplomatic approach. Virgola lies low and aims with the Nautilus Carver. There is significant pushback from its prone position as Setsuko snipes the most open Canises.+

Drascin (20:29:45): *Kagura takes the situation in quickly, and decides that the battleship can wait a few minutes, they didn't seem excessively mobile. So she locks on to several of the Canis, opening fire with multiple volleys of curving, hard-seeking gouts of plasma. And if the Canis try to narrowly dodge, they're going to discover that said bursts of plasma can suddenly detonate out of nowhere at Kagura's leisure, so watch out!+
tengusaur (20:29:47): One of the Jenices is hit by the rocket punch and blows up, another riddled with holes by Selena's railgun. The rest of them regroup, acting in a very synchronized way, and a group of three of them takes aim and then fires bazookas at Selena and Albhard. (react)
Aero (20:29:59): Willis: "We should aim to disable the batteship then and give you a chance to try then Major. "
TormTerra (20:30:26): Kei: "I'm on it, but trying to figure out how that thing is put together is going to take a bit."
tengusaur (20:30:58): Setsuko keeps firing at one of the Canises until it can't take any more and blows up! Another one gets hit a few times, taking damage... But it starts an evasive maneuver, and at the same time two more of them provide cover, firing beam blasts from their cannons from afar. (react)
Drascin (20:31:20): Kagura: "KEEP AN EYE FOR ANY SURPRISES COMING OUT OF THE BATTLESHIP WHILE YOU'RE AT IT, KUGIMIYA"

Wyverncakes (20:33:10): Selena: "If only they were guided missiles..."
tengusaur (20:33:42): Kagura fires a lot of plasma at one of the Canises, overwhelming it and not giving it any place to dodge! The unit is destroyed, needless to say. Another one takes light damage from the plasma balls burning it, but it's not enough to take it down. Four Jenices move forward, taking cover behind trees and then firing their machineguns and built-in chest-mounted cannons! Lots of bullets are flying into Kagura's direction now. (react)
Wyverncakes (20:33:46): * Unable to make use of the Soleares's jammer, the machine instead makes a dive to the side, whilst the Grungust's eye beams fire to try to sweep the bazooka rounds out of the air!+

tengusaur (20:35:05): The energy blasts explode among the trees, sending charred wood and leaves flying everywhere! But they serve their purpose as cover and Setsuko successfully evades.
Meraxa (20:35:35): Ken decides to make use of his surroundings, scaling the canyon walls with the Beast Mode's claws, making up for a lack of flight as it then leaps at a Jenice to slash its face!+
tengusaur (20:36:42): Selena's evasive maneuvers are also successful, helped by Albhard's defensive eye lasers, which shoot down most of the bazooka blasts! Most, but not all - one of the shells still explodes on the ground, next to the Grungust, and deals light damage to its armor. +
Drascin (20:36:42): *Keeping calm, Kagura lets her SEAL field slow down the incoming bullets, carefully moving through the projectiles with economical, elegant moves as she returns fire with carful, sporadic shots when she gets the opportunity+

Wyverncakes (20:37:13): Albhard: "Heh..."
Aero (20:37:29): * The Gespenst maintains a position close to Purple-2 in case the enemies picked up on it. "Slash Ripper." The three remote weapons deploy from the PT and soar out towards the Canis, aiming to cleave off the arms of the knockoffs. +
Wyverncakes (20:37:40): "With aim like that you might as well call it quits now!"
tengusaur (20:37:47): Ken rips a Jenice apart, starting from the head - it tries to raise its heat axe, but is too slow! Two other Jenices aren't too slow, however, and they rush forward, trying to chop him up! (react)
tengusaur (20:37:55): There's no response to Albhard's taunt.

Meraxa (20:38:57): "Stand Up!" ScarleTiger leaps from its mauled opponent, spinning once as it transforms, with the sun above it as it descends, wielding its- "SCARLET SHOTELS!" - to contest the opponents' heat axes!+
tengusaur (20:39:04): Kei - the battleship is heavily armored, without any noticable weak points. But it seems that its weapon systems are offline.

tengusaur (20:40:00): Willis' remote slash rippers cleave into the Canis, cutting off its arms. It doesn't look like it will be able to do anything now...
TormTerra (20:40:02): * "We need to make our way through the escort. Major, start laying down some suppression fire to gather the Jenices together at the spot I've marked. Selena and Albhard, you move on to strike at them before they can regroup at that spot." +
tengusaur (20:40:33): Two other Canises are a different matter entirely, though. They rush forward, drawing beam sabers, and try to attack the Gespenst from two opposite directions! (react)
TormTerra (20:40:39): Kei: "And the weapons appear to be offline on the battleship. Unless it has some alternate system for powering them or similar. But look out either way."
Wyverncakes (20:40:49): The Soleares draws one of its Sol Razors, the Grungust pulling out the Doomblade itself!

Meraxa (20:42:25): Ken: Could be... they're saving it for something? Wouldn't be the first battleship with a trick up its sleeve!
tengusaur (20:42:31): Ken blocks the incoming axes with his shotels, creating a shower of sparks. The enemy units try to overpower him for a while, but then...
tengusaur (20:42:52): Lowen: "Now! An opportunity to clear our name!"
Wyverncakes (20:43:09): * The Soleares springs into action, Razor elongating in a beam whip before flicking out and swinging like a maul at the Jenices! But more notably, the Grungust leapt into the air, a physical blade extending out from the hilt. "Now then... Adioooooooos!" Its thrusters flared and it dove down, spinning around to deliver a two-handed slash into their ranks!+
TormTerra (20:43:19): Kei: "Unless there is more going on here." Who knew what was really going on with this
tengusaur (20:43:27): Chaos Leo jumps towards one of the Jenices, cutting it apart with its extending, tentacle-like claws! This lets Ken overpower the other opponent and slash him apart as well.

*Kell, all those enemies are entirely too separate for some proper firepower. So lets herd them a bit. Kagura begins firing plasma flares to the sides whenever the Janices try to move outwards, like a sheepdog barking at wayward sheep every time they take a wrong move+

Meraxa (20:44:14): Ken: I totally had that, lion guy!
Aero (20:44:42): * "Combat Patterns..." The Gespenst draws one of it's beam sabers in response. "Got it." As the Canis swings down Willis meets the saber with his own. Before this situation could get worse the Slash Rippers are called back to try to delimb the Canis before it could do anything else. +
Aero (20:45:24): He had complete trust in Setsuko handling the other one.
tengusaur (20:46:41): Three of the Jenices are herded up together by Kagura's shots... And then the remnants of Team Jelboa take this as an opportunity to strike! With those powerful melee attacks, all three of the Mobile Suits are trashed and blow up in a series of explosions!
Wyverncakes (20:47:18): Selena: "Gracias, major..."
Wyverncakes (20:47:35): "Cleaned up nicely enough there's no need for an enchore."
tengusaur (20:48:11): Willis blocks the incoming beam saber with his own - but the Canis has superior performance, and it slowly starts to overpower the Gespenst, the saber burning into the PT's arm. But then the blades fly in, cutting into the green machine and forcing it to disengage.
tengusaur (20:48:32): The other Canis can't do much because its face is caved in. The machine collapses, several systems blowing up inside.
Aero (20:49:20): Willis: "Tch...that's not good...Elma, can you do me a favor and analyze the weapons on the broken one there?"

Wyverncakes (20:50:19): The Grungust shifts to interpose itself between the Soleares and the ship just for safety's sake.
tengusaur (20:50:55): Elma - from a quick analysis, the machines are equipped with guns that can fire both energy and physical blasts, and with roche sabers. Furthermore, they seem to be controlled by AIs.

TormTerra (20:54:14): * And with that she's interrupted by the blasts. Immediately looking away from the sensors, Kei begins moving around to avoid any of the incoming blasts, putting as much energy towards her shields as she can without letting go for evasiveness. +
Aero (20:55:00): * He hated being right in this situation. The Gespenst quickly moves over and positions itself in front of Purple-Two, additionally layering the slash rippers in front of him to serve as a improvised shield. +
tengusaur (20:56:11): Fortunately Purple Two's sensors give Kei an advantage when it comes to detecting such sneaky attacks! She manages not to get hit by any of them - partially because Willis does what he does best, aka act like a human shield. Gespenst suffers some light damage, and one of its slash rippers is destroyed into uselessness.
tengusaur (20:56:48): The attack came from the direction of a dozen of crow-like machines, soaring from the flank into your direction!

Purple Two's shield starts getting overwhelmed and its armor is taking damage, but then Eliphas gets hit right in the arm by shots from both Setsuko and Willis, throwing it a bit back - and then it jumps further back in order to avoid the stealth boomerang, which still leaves a long (if shallow) gash in its armor!

Aero (21:43:32): * With Albard being pushed back Willis takes it upon himself to try to scatter the Crows. "Kei I'm going to break their formation, Selena you need to be quick on this." After a quick observation Willis changes the Carver to it's high output mode and targets the crowd of birds. "Carver...fire!" A much more powerful beam is shot out and swept across to destroy what Avians he could and hopefully send them scattering. +
tengusaur (21:44:19): Raquel's flames engulf one of the remaining Canises, making it collapse to the ground, charred! The last one rushes towards her, trying to slam into her unit with its carver in a heavy melee strike, and then follow up with a slash of a roche saber! (react)
Wyverncakes (21:44:22): * Damaged but not beat, the Grungust still rises up again, unwilling to turn back from the Eliphas but also knowing there are other threats out there to worry about. Fortunately, there's a solution that'll handle both of these issues! "We're not finished with you... but for the moment..." The Grungust's chest begins to charge up, gathering in energy as it turns towards the Crows and in another instant, the Maxiblaster fires out into their group! Selena's quick to follow up as well, railgun shots firing as well!+
tengusaur (21:46:47): Three of the crows are caught in the crossfire of beam and railgun shots, and explode one by one! The remaining few scatter, not engaging anyone for the time being. This gives you a free opportunity to attack...

And shen she (he?) raises an arm, creating a large chain-like pattern of round projectiles, which start swarming around Soleares, trying to catch it as well and then cut into it! (react)

tengusaur (22:54:01): Eckzard sees the attack coming - it's almost like it has two pairs of eyes or something. It raises its gun, attaches a module to it and fires a large beam blast, trying to catch Virgola within it before Setsuko can reach it! (react/continue)

The Soleares charged in at the Nine Lives, machineguns whirring noisily as it suddenly blinked out of existence! From afar though, the Grungust let a slew of missiles out at the target to give Selena her opening...&
tengusaur (23:00:22): Even though the aura of piano keys (or at least that's how it looks like) appears underneath Kagura whenever she stops, she manages to avoid the worst of it, and only gets grazed by the edge of the spatial distortion.

TormTerra (23:07:06): * Well, if they just had to beat up these people and hope that somehow solved their problems, that was just what Kei was going to do. Spinning her gatlings around to aim at the closest of the cat people, she opened up a full volley hoping to overwhelm her targets ability to dodge with sheer volume of firepower leaving no place to go. +
Meraxa (23:07:27): Ken... doesn't move, instead continuing to focus. If this place keeps acting as it has so far, then perhaps it won't matter. Setsuko showed how... Though he might raise a hand to try and grab Million Lives if gets any closer+
tengusaur (23:08:01): Some of the chains burn into Soleares, damaging it... But before Selena can actually blow up, she gets into range and peppers Nine Lives with lots and lots of bullets, completely overcoming the defensive barrier! The cat creature erupts into sprites of light and disappears from your sight.
tengusaur (23:08:46): Willis intercepts the incoming explosive flowers with his slash ripper and then fires a beam blast, causing it to explode! The explosion, combined with the blast, deals light damage to both his unit and the opponent.

WIh a furious roar Albhard pushes the mech's reactor into the red as the Soleares takes out the Blade Railgun again and begins firing on Nil from afar!+

Drascin (23:24:47): *Kagura in the meantime keeps at it with Al4th, bombarding her from all sides like a single-fairy bombing raid, spinning around her as she carves into Al4th and her shields with everything she has - and a few things she hasn't, as her LUNA force flow just doesn't seem to so much as go down no matter how much she pushes herself inside here. The beams cut and pierce, the explosions boom and shatter all around, the stakes rain straight at Al4th's chest - and all throughout this Kagura just doesn't stop moving+

tengusaur (23:27:14): Thanks to Albhard blocking the lasers with the Doom Blade (which is pretty severely damaged now), Setsuko has a way to escape - and she should keep moving, because the damaging aura keeps appearing underneath her feet for several seconds!
tengusaur (23:27:52): Still, the railgun blasts damage Nil's defenses pretty severely, and the additional pistol shots help.

tengusaur (23:28:34): Kagura's focused assault means that Al4th has no chance, and erupts into light.
Wyverncakes (23:28:47): Kinda redundant what with the whole coming back schtick, but concern doesn't just go away because of that.
tengusaur (23:29:26): But watch out, Temperment Nil changes her tactics! She stops in one place for a moment and fires four lasers, which reflect off... the air, pretty much, forming a large criss-crossing pattern! She tries to catch both Kagura and Selena in it! (react you two)

TormTerra (23:32:25): * With her amazing success so far and no real ability to direct the battle without proper sensor input, reliable enemy movement or any terrain features to use, Kei decided to target the most beat up enemy hoping to finish it off rather than face another counterattack, not really much else to try to do. Once again relying on her gatlings, she followed up on the pressure others were putting on Temperment Nil to try and hit it before it had room to leave. +
Wyverncakes (23:32:26): * In the meantime though, Selena's got more lasers to worry about now! "Rebounding off... tch..." As tempting as it would be to see what the Prism Phantom would do to these lasers, best not to risk it. Instead the machine banks up and tries to slip by an "older" section of the lasers before the pattern cuts the machine off, or for that matter cuts it up.+
Aero (23:33:11): *Willis switches the setting of his Mega BEam Rifle and unloads the rest of the cartridge into Anansi. He didn't seem to care about the potential damage he could take from his own slash rippers. +
Drascin (23:36:42): *Well, Kagura has an advantage here, being small. She can carefully move in the holes of the crisscrossing pattern, and gain terrain towards temperment Nil bit by bit before, on the first chance she can, raising a cannon and shooting a very large bullet exactly at the middle of her face+
tengusaur (23:39:39): Selena's complete focus on evasion lets her escape all the lasers in a very nible way. Kagura gets hit by a glancing shot from one before she escapes into the open holes in the pattern.
tengusaur (23:40:19): And then Temperment Nil gets hit by lots nd lots of bullets. And one very big one. All of this is enough for her, and she's thrown away by the blasts, her body shredded into motes of light.
tengusaur (23:41:29): Ken claws at Anansi a few times, but suddenly ScarleTiger's claw starts moving on its own! The opponent is controlling its arm, with these strings! And he makes Ken's machine slash at itself, almost mockingly!
tengusaur (23:42:12): But then Willis fires the beam rifle, damaging Anansi further and severing the strings, not caring about the further damage his Gespenst takes in the process, from the spinning blades cutting into it deeply.
tengusaur (23:42:45): Ken regains full control of his machine, and can continue rip and tearing at Anansi! Which he does.
Ginkan SK (23:44:59): Raquel has turne her attnetion to eht enemies that temain here now and she frowns looking over the Temperment thinking they might be the easier one to take out of the equasion. She sives in attemping to launch into a burtal rapid combo of kicks on the Temperment Nil.

Quickly retracting her spikes, she fires them at the back of the mysterious, demonic mecha followed by emptying whatever is left in the magazine of her gatlings towards it to try to help others break it down as much as possible. +
Drascin (23:56:21): *Kagura is going to shift to the side and begin firing in diagonal arcs, cutting off the Eliphas's trajectories and forcing it to waste time weaving and dodging so the others can catch up+

tengusaur (23:56:47): All of these attacks would probably be a big problem for the fleeing Xine...
