Wyverncakes (02:07:59): Roland: "Another attack- ah, this isn't good..."
Wyverncakes (02:08:36): "It's the Zentradi... but the situation," he swallows.
Wyverncakes (02:08:50): "... They're targeting the SDF Macross again."
Wyverncakes (02:09:51): "There were fold signatures not even ten minute sago... and the Macross is..."
Wyverncakes (02:10:10): "... Trying to let its civilians depart."
Wyverncakes (02:10:12): And there it is.

Wyverncakes (02:11:46): Upon teleporting to the Macross's hangars, you'll be able to see that everyone present is gearing up for battle, pilots and mechanics alike.

frifreeman (02:13:01): Kakizaki then proceed into his VF
tengusaur (02:13:20): Soon, Scaraber teleports in as well. The mech instantly starts moving out of the Macross' hangar.
Ginkan SK (02:13:45): Russel is fairly quick to deploy in his Gespenst but given the Zentradi he's going in his heavy weapons config today, he's going to need the extra split missiles and the beam canons.
tengusaur (02:13:46): Hetepheres: "Captain, what is the situation? Can we guarantee the safety of the civilians during this attack?"
Peter Kampschroeder (02:16:17): Misa: "We have a large number of Zentraedi capital ships coming in, along with their fighter complement. However, for the civilians..."
Wyverncakes (02:16:24): When you take flight, you'll see that the Macross is standing in vehicle mode in a section of a massive, sprawling city... people running for cover and conventional military forces scrambling as well for defense.
Peter Kampschroeder (02:17:52): Gloval: "Our engineers have recently developed a new type of energy shield. It should render the Macross safe, but unable to attack. As no civilians have disembarked, we'll leave the assault on the enemy to you and our fighters."
Wyverncakes (02:18:01): And yes, off in the distance a slew of warships moving into closer range, but before them are what looks to be a swarm of fighter crafts!
Wyverncakes (02:18:35): The Zentradi van's already beginning to make attack runs on the city, beams and missiles making streaks of fire through the streets!

Hetepheres slashes through any enemies that might be on her way, ending her change by landing on top of a Gnerl, stabbing into its cockpit with one of her khopeshes, then kicking it into another near unit! +

Wyverncakes (02:26:27): [Heph] The sky's filled with enemies, but that just means attacking anywhere works just fine. Gnerls pre-occupied fighting SDF Valkyries get cut through by the Scaraber's blades, the last of them being hurled at a Glaug Booster! But the aeriel fighter's main cannon fires at you, just before your improvised projectile smashes into it!

Wyverncakes (02:29:24): [Kakizaki] Your missiles catch the Gnerls, cutting one attack run short and avenging civilians gunned down in the streets by another... but as your lone VF breaks through... nobody turns back towards you. But that's only because the Queadol-Magdomillas are still beyond you, and you are still in their line of fire! Numerous beams of energy are unleashed from them, straight at the Macross but you're still in the crossfire!

Ginkan SK (02:32:00): Russel is going to be keeping with Kakizaki today it seems. todady as he's got the same thing in mind as Kakizaki. "Right with you." Russel's going to follow up Kakizaki's actions and is going to fire off a pair of split missile pds into the Gnerls and try too push for the Queadol-Magdomillas.+
Wyverncakes (02:32:49): [Heph] The shot from the "electron beam cannon" (that's what MaHQ calls it) surges past you narrowly, blasting through a VF's wing. Falling in a dive, the pilot does his best to make a save by switching to Gerwalk mode and keep fighting on the ground.
Peter Kampschroeder (02:32:53): *Shammy: "Pinpoint barriers, engage!" Little bits of energy shield zip around the Macross, intercepting the enemy energy beams here and there. The massive flying ship launches the rest of its VFs, leaving almost none behind-and sets them to attack the enemy. And once that's done...&
frifreeman (02:33:23): Kakizaki: "Oh boy!" Kakizaki bobs and weaves to dodge the beams. Lucky none of thema re directly aimed at him, the's just incidentally in the crossfire, right?+
Wyverncakes (02:35:25): [Russel and Kakizaki] The Gespenst's split missiles blast through another few Gnerls, letting Russel break through this initial wave as well. And yes, this must be Kakizaki's lucky day as the beams miss him... though other forces -both ESUN and Zentradi- are not so lucky.
Wyverncakes (02:35:33): Whoever's running this operation is one hell of a teamkiller.

Wyverncakes (02:36:50): [Macross crew] The hangars are almost completely emptied, and right afterwards your barriers activate! The energized zones do repel the shots, but there's still more attacks getting though, damaging the massive warship!

Peter Kampschroeder (02:38:26): *Gloval: "Barrier field, activate!" The new bubble shield builds up power, and turns on-surrounding the Macross in a giant pink bubble of force.+
Wyverncakes (02:38:57): [Ren] The Huckebein's shots rain down, striking the QRs and Glaugs, two of the latter crashing spectacularly while a third only barely manages to eject from its Booster in time! But the Huckebein comes under fire from above, more Gnerls opening fire with their laser cannons and missiles for good measure!

At the same time, Ren accelerates, trying to lose the remaining projectiles by outrunning them and swerving frantically!+
Wyverncakes (02:41:18): [Macross] As the barrier begins to envelop the Macross. the brunt of the fleet's attacks strikes the ship dead-on!
Wyverncakes (02:42:00): But as the dust settles a bright pink light begins to shine through... the entire warship being protected!

Wyverncakes (02:45:03): [Ren] The slasher cuts though the air, cleaving through missiles and then the Gnerls themselves that fired them. The machine itself takes minor damage, but it's a high-end machine and a few lucky pot-shots are nothing compared to it.
Wyverncakes (02:45:15): But that attempt at diplomacy doesn't get you anywhere though Ren.
Peter Kampschroeder (02:45:17): Misa: "Eh? Ubuntu, what are you doing?!"
tengusaur (02:45:28): Hetepheres: "I doubt they will listen to you." Scaraber lands heavily on the ground, planting its feet in concrete. Hetepheres aims her staff at the Zentraedi units zipping above, then fires a concentrated laser beam, trailing it over the humanoid opponents. +

Wyverncakes (02:48:29): [Heph] The beam fires up, blasting through a Glaug Booster as it moved in for an attack run on the Macross and ensuring it won't be pulling up from its dive-bomb. But Scaraber, now with an anti-beam shield, is suddenly shoulder-checked by the other grounded Glaug! The Zentradi machine then springs back, firing at the Gebian machine with missiles, beams, and bullets!

tengusaur (02:51:44): Hetepheres: "...There is no doubt about it. This is the commander of this force." As soon as Scaraber regains its balance, she fires another, much faster and smaller beam at the missiles, then spins the staff quickly in her hands to intercept the rest of the incoming projectiles, making it almost look like a spinning shield. +
Wyverncakes (02:51:45): [Kakizaki] Well, NOW you have the Gnerls' attention. The rear of this wave suddenly are forced to break off when two of their own are blown to pieces, some looping around in nearly every direction before turning their attention -and guns- on you!

Wyverncakes (02:58:29): [Ren] And in the span of only a few moments, the Gnerls are AGAIN coming under fire from their flank, more of the fighters being blown to pieces... but unfortunately without the Huckebein's TK Field it takes anothe bad round of damage. Though still in the fight it's still knocked off its center from the force of the missiles that struck it.

cubey@aol.pl (03:02:40): Ren: "No. Not without any kind." *Ren's eyes narrow momentarily - fire! A sniper round goes up into the sky, crossing the battlefield and towards one of the capital ships. Another pink beam of energy follows, and then a third.+
Peter Kampschroeder (03:03:03): *Misa: "Skull Squadron, Rose Squadron, Quebec squadron, move to sector D-4 and disable the enemy fleet's anti-air power!" "Rodger!" A section of the forces reorganizes their attack, working to blow up and cripple the smaller guns on enemy ships.+
Ginkan SK (03:03:58): Russel "Watch your tail man, looks like the Zentradi are not giving a damn about their own today! I'm going for the ships." Russel keeps moving and got lucky he didn't get hit and now he's trying to draw a lock. On one of the Queadol-Magdomillas.The twin beam canons charg and he locks on aiming to rake the beam across the ship's hull. "TWIN BEAM CANNON FIRE+
Wyverncakes (03:07:57): [Ren and Macross] On that command, VFs take advantage of the gaps in the Zentradi offensive, closing in on one of the Queadol-Magdomillas, falling in with Russel's own attack! Missiles and beams rain down on it, blowing open its hull and guns, and the ship begins to tip down towards the ground! It's slowly but clearly crashing, even as Ren's shots strike into a second, the first two shots piercing into the ship and the third piercing through! But the remaining ships in the Zentradi flotilla still continue their attack, more beams arching out before blasting straight at the Macross!

Wyverncakes (03:19:32): [Russel and Heph] Death is coming at the Gespenst, but suddenly the Scaraber's throwing itself in the path of the shot! The force crashing against the Noble Barrier's greater than nearly anything else than it's ever taken before, blasting the Scaraber back and some of the energy still getting through... biting into the machine's armor! But it holds...
Wyverncakes (03:20:02): ... Even as that lone Glaug on the ground moves to line up a shot, only to be suddenly blown up by a stray missile.

Queadluun-Raus are on the way, and she brandishes all four of her blades, stabbing into one of the blockers, then slashing each in a different direction. +

Wyverncakes (03:31:03): [Heph] The Queadluun-Rau is cut to pieces, their attempted metagaming of firing through the Scaraber's anti-beam barrier with physical weapons falling short when the barrier switches colors again. It takes them a moment, but they change gears and switch to beam weapons again!

Wyverncakes (03:33:16): But then he stops. "I will do everything I can from here!" He was sounding like he was trying to be courageous right there, right before that channel is closed. He has to help coordinate that evacuation now.
tengusaur (03:33:36): Hetepheres: "Out of my way. Bitles, launch!" While the Zentraedi switch their weapons, she fires four drones from Scaraber's back shell. They zoom forward, firing lasers as a distraction, while Hetepheres engages in defensive maneuvers. +

Wyverncakes (03:36:54): [Kakizaki] Your also begin to fall back from the Macross, though it appears that the Zentradi forces are starting to take the hint about what's about to happen. Many of their ships are still by the Macross, tying up its VFs, but others are falling back too, several Queadluun-Raus coming in from behind and firing on you as they make their escape!

Misa doesn't say anything about fighting, but as the various VFs try to speed through the enemy formations-and out past them-a few will take potshots here and there against the Zentraedi. Those that aren't hemmed in, of course...+
Wyverncakes (03:38:25): [Heph] The Bitles cover their hub machine, some of the Zentradi breaking off their attack while others try to gun either the drones or the Scaraber down in time. They fall short in that endeavor, the Bitle lasers spearing through them!
Ginkan SK (03:38:36): Russel does not run just yet, if the ship is taking fire? Well reducing the ship count would give them more time. He's got that charge from eariler and swings the beam canons up at the damaged Queadol-Magdomilla hoping to finish up and get some fire off the macross. It could get them some more time. He's going to run after that.+

Wyverncakes (03:40:29): [Macross] Zentradi ships and VFs each shoot down each other in the chaos of trying to escape, trying to take advantage of those trying to escape, those successfully escaping... and the damaged Zentraedi ship gets rocked by a few more missiles! But even though the ships are taking damage...

However, since Ren's power works outwardly, connected to other people and not themselves - the TK barriers act likewise, appearing in several locations around the city, semi-transparent spheres appearing and then disappearing. One of them also appears around Kakizaki's VF, as well as all other allied units which are under attack at the moment.+

VJockey (03:45:18): *While Ren defends the ship itself, another seeks to remove the attackers from the equation. A barrage of sizable energy blasts are sent hurtling towards the Zentradi ships attacking the Macross!+
Wyverncakes (03:47:19): [Ren and Kakizkai] Ren's shield protects Kakizaki's VF for the precious seconds needed to get out of the line of fire of the alien war machines! And beyond that, as the barriers converge on the Macross itself, they interpose between the Macross's own barrier and the shots! The Zentraedi barrage collides... but no energy is added to the destabilizing barrier!

A burst of energy emanates from Scaraber, which lands on a hill on the ground, aims its staff, and fires a huge energy beam towards the damaged Zentraedi battleship, getting pushed back by its force and leaving marks in the ground! +

Wyverncakes (03:57:59): [Heph] Damaged as it is, there's no shortage of weak points in the warship's frame, and Scarab Power-powered lasers are no laughing matter. The beam surges forth, spearing through the damaged vessel, and a short time later punches through the back side,making the entire thing explode!
Wyverncakes (03:58:29): Roland: "Yes... that's, what I'm hoping for!"
Wyverncakes (03:58:41): He's still sweating bullets over this.
Wyverncakes (04:00:27): [Kakizaki] And just like that, the Zentraedi fighters suddenly overshoot Kakizaki's VF. Then Kakizki's guns overshoots all of them.

VJockey (04:17:19): *The moment the hole was dug through Leos and Boyle opened fire with their respective shoulder weapons. The former sent a large laser blast to further widen the hole Remille made, while the latter's Twin Plasma Cannons would serve to be the hammerblow+
Wyverncakes (04:19:45): [Leos and Ren] The other Frighteners' shots hit home, and their effect was immediate by the explosions that began rocking the warship. But that was just the herald of what was to come, as the Huckebein Omega's Gravitic Cannon shot crashed into them. A darkness spread, pulling both of them in, crushing and grinding them against the gravimetric shear as the spun, turned, snapped, bent... and then finally exploded.
Wyverncakes (04:21:04): No more mean-spirited shots to throw fuel on the fire that was the Macross's overloading barrier.
Wyverncakes (04:21:08): But speaking of which...
Wyverncakes (04:21:36): Macross crew, it's finally going critical. There's no way to stabilize it, though you've gotten the ship up above Montreal as far as you could manage...
Wyverncakes (04:21:41): ... All that's left to do now... is pray.

Wyverncakes (04:25:53): One of the fragile, foolish remaining Zentraedi Gnarls is smashed apart as the barrier crashes into it...
frifreeman (04:26:03): Kakizaki: "This time for real, everyone go go go go!"
Wyverncakes (04:26:08): And that might very well be you all if you don't get to safety in time!

frifreeman (04:26:28): Kakizaki turns back and races away from the Macross as fast as possible!..

Ginkan SK (04:27:24): Russel turns his back and now to the ship and starts to flee keeping pace with Kakizaki as he moves.
VJockey (04:27:31): *Leos' AC simply makes a motion to the other Frighteners before they activate their Overboost systems to get out of there.+

Wyverncakes (04:33:35): [Everyone] It's a mad dash for all of you to safety... and as the barrier spreads and nears the city, it's clear that the answer is no... it wasn't quite enough. Buildings are smashed by the power of the overload, and no doubt lives are lost as well. People are running for their lives, the ones fortunate enough to be close to Ren relatively safe even as the wave gets closer and closer...
Wyverncakes (04:34:42): A number of VFs, and the Zentradi forces too for that matter, are blown away in the overload... too slow or too close to the Macross to have gotten to safety in time, but...
Wyverncakes (04:35:45): ... But then wave stops expanding, the energy growing fainter and fainter, before disappating.
