Meraxa (02:21:32): Ataru: To think, all we had to do to find proof of alien life before the last two decades would have been to dig a bit deeper.
Wyverncakes (02:21:45): Much of it is still buried in the sand, but the front of it's still been uncovered. Long and rectangular, it could almost pass for a more mundane site...

Wyverncakes (02:22:24): But in more than a few places, stone has been removed either by the power of the desert or by pick and chisel, revealing solid metal.

Ginkan SK (02:23:33): Raquel muses while that civilzation fell? IT's people have endured and that still ays something she thinks, that however isn't the imporant thing today. No they got a job to do so here she is. "So your saying we got lucky then or ... they wanted us to find it?"

Wyverncakes (02:27:35): The nearing vanguard is, shockingly only comprised of Gebian Levies... but it's clear that the AEP did not send but a token force to reclaim the vault's treasures.
tengusaur (02:27:43): Hetepheres: "Oh? But you make such a good living shield, Willis. And that is a voice I have not heard in a long while..."
Wyverncakes (02:28:18): Behind them came three more machines... first, the wasp-like Aposniper, staying to the air and with its bow at the ready. Looks like Nekhbet's back again.
Meraxa (02:28:32): Ataru: Is it another relative?
Ginkan SK (02:29:08): Raquel gets the diea and humms "I can remain to guard the tomb if need be." and then more compeny shows up Raquel sighs a little bit and gets ready.

Aero (02:29:39): Willis: "I can't always be looking out just for you Heph."
Wyverncakes (02:29:43): But accompanying the Aposniper were two newcomer machines... first, a grounded, many-limbed spider-like machine. On its back, a whole slew of weapons were strapped. And second, a hulking, heavily-armored beetle-like machine. Axe already in hand and cannons sticking out of its shoulders.
tengusaur (02:31:30): Hetepheres: "As expected, Teremun did not feel the need to show himself personally. He sent all of his remaining generals, instead."
Wyverncakes (02:31:53): ???: "Yes, an old comrade, General Hetepheres! A shame about us being on opposite sides, but then again, the chance to cross blades with you isn't an experience many get."
tengusaur (02:32:26): Hetepheres: "It is a pity you decided to join the AEP, Khaldun."
Wyverncakes (02:33:03): Nekhbet: "Khaldun, our primary goal is to claim the Deceased One's treasures. Do not get too distracted."

Wyverncakes (02:34:36): Khaldun still lets out a short, boisterous laugh at Nekhbet's words. But Hetepheres has his attention. "Maybe a pity, maybe not. But the battles I've fought since then have been quite satisfying, and this has the chance to eclipse them all!"

Wyverncakes (02:35:10): The third general's voice is feminine, but hard and bitter.
VJockey (02:35:29): "Three leaders in the same place. This Teremun is risking a lot to get this."

Wyverncakes (02:36:16): The Beetle machine's cannons suddenly begin to charge up, firing a quick blast at both Ren's TSF and Gold-4!

Aero (02:41:29): * "Zephyr." Willis quickly changes Strahlend into it's high mobility form and charges straight at mechanized beetle, trying to take the opportunity to attack it while it was still in recoil. Quicksilver forms out of nowhere and once the distance is closed he swings the blade in a totally simple horizontal slash. &
Wyverncakes (02:41:55): [Peopla, Ataru, and Ren] With only a minimal charge, the Bombard's shots lack the greater part of their stopping power. Regalis Filia's sword and scarf move into position to guard, but the force of the blasts still knocks Filia backwards into the sand!
tengusaur (02:42:25): * Scaraber spreads its insectoid wings and takes off into the air, rushing towards Aposniper! Hetepheres approaches Sagira's unit on a circular trajectory, and as she passes by, she slashes at the wasp-like machine with all four swords in quick succession! +

Wyverncakes (02:46:47): [Hetepheres] The Aposniper moves back in response, bringing its bow up. The slashes barely graze the machine, but Aposniper's bow is also poised for a retaliatory strike, firing a beeam of energy at the Scaraber in response!+

Wyverncakes (02:48:28): [Willis] As Strahlend charges, Sagira just snorts in derision. "And look, the first Earthling to offer himself up!" The Bombard's massive axe comes swinging around, fully intend on smashing through your sword and then the rest of your machine Willis!

Wyverncakes (02:49:55): [Hetepheres] The beam arrow fortunately whizzes past you, leaving the Scaraber unharmed. But Nekhbet spent the time she bought to fall back a ways...
cubey@aol.pl (02:50:32): *Knowing Willis and Hetepheres are more than capable of handling this, Ren's Fubuki moves forward. It tries to cut distance to the Arachnoheires, hunched forward for a better grip on its assault cannon as it fires a barrage of suppressive gunfire.+
Ginkan SK (02:51:09): Raquel is moving into play as the Amazon seems to start moving much as always like it's a living thing. She takes note of the Gabian Levies who seem to get her attention she'll leave the others. So she takes of heading for the first one but doesn't quite close to melee that's when the bursts of fire start coming from her machine's first and then she keeps closing+
Wyverncakes (02:54:52): [Ren] The gunfire surges towards Khaldun's machine... but in the blink of an eye five of the machine's arms reach back, pulling free its weapons! A khopesh, a sickle, an axe, a spear, a mace! And in a sudden blinding blur that makes it seem like there's ten weapon-wielding arms your attack is cut down! "Maybe she is," the old general concedes as he charges! "But for now, you've chosen to be my opponent, and I hope your skill matches your bravery!" The arms come striking from six different angle -the last one punching out-!

Aero (02:54:58): * "Sacrificing myself isn't really my sort of thing." Willis quickly increases the size of Quicksilver to match the axe and he slams his own weapon against the axe in an attempt to parry it. "Though your barrier is gold, so I guess I should do this instead." And as the blades meet the edge of the longsword is suddenly lined with what seems to be a blade of energy which Willis starts pushing through to cleave through the axe and the oversized beetle. +

She's forced away as the Strehland's blade cuts into her machine's frame... though the armor manages to minimize the damage! But just when you think she's got something hateful to spit in your direction-

Wyverncakes (03:02:02): [Ren] Suddenly the Bombard throws itself in the course of the Type-97's shots... shots that would've caught the general by surprise!. The golden barrier stops the attacks. "My thanks, General Sagira!" before suddenly a thread of light lashes out from the Araneonheir's empty hand!

Aero (03:03:17): Willis: "So they're coordinating their barriers."
tengusaur (03:03:27): Hetepheres: "Khaldun and Sagira are also old comrades. They will defend each other like this - and since their barriers are synchronized, one of them is always gold while the other is silver."
tengusaur (03:04:20): Hetepheres: "They will switch patterns at the same time. If you want to damage them, use combined strikes or attacks that have both a physical and beam component!"
Aero (03:04:32): Willis: "Two steps ahead of you Heph."

Wyverncakes (03:05:26): [Ren and Heph] The laser thread stabs forward, but Hetepheres's blades cut the string to ribbons, leaving the remainder to just slap against the Scaraber's golden barrier uselessly!

Wyverncakes (03:06:20): ... The thread strikes, and fizzles... part of it stopping cold right there. But a spark of energy passes through at the same time, striking the Scaraber in the shoulder!

Wyverncakes (03:13:25): [Ataru and Willis] The particle shots and sword hurtle towards the Bombard... but this time neither Khaldun nor Nekhbet move to its pilot's defense! Instead, with a furious roar Sagira slams her axe into a sand dune in front of her, knocking a massive cloud of sand to mask her movements and impede your attacks! And then there's her words. "Now, all of you! Attack and have their heads!"
Wyverncakes (03:13:45): Levies suddenly emerge from both sides of the wave of sand, opening fire on both the Strehland and Gold-4!

Meraxa (03:15:26): Ataru: Damn! *Ataru attempts a 'combat roll' as it shall be designated in the report, meaning he dived whilst trying to fire back at one of his assailants+
Wyverncakes (03:16:43): [Peola] Araneonheir's silver Noble Barier wards off your attack's ki component, but the khopesh's arched shape hooks and catches your sword all the same! "Hoho... and so quickly does an Earthling try the same tactic against me! Well met, and have at you!" Axe, mace, and sickle slash from three separate directions, like some sort of swallow-striking slash!

VJockey (03:17:28): "Gonna say it again. Not an earthling!"
VJockey (03:18:50): *Peola grins and pulls her sword from her sheath! Seeking to stop those weapons and entangle the Araneonheir's arms with her scarf!!+
Aero (03:19:41): * "Eh, are you too lazy to fight me yourself now?" With Quicksilver still whirling around Willis directs the blade to swing around and take care of the Levie attacking him while he charges at Sagira again, trying to slam his fist into the machine. +
Wyverncakes (03:19:55): Khaldun: "Then my apologies. But whatever race you are... you know the art of fighting well!"
Wyverncakes (03:22:17): [Willis, Ren, and Ataru] WIllis and Ren's counter-fire does manage to catch two of the Levies, thinning out the enemy crossfire... but it's still not enough to take the whole edge off of either Strehland or Gold-4. Gold-4's combat roll also doesn't go over well in the desert, shots pelting its left side while the Strehland's charge and punch is met by the swinging force of the Bombard's axe, cleaving the arm off at the elbow!

Wyverncakes (03:23:19): Sagira: "Still adamant of meeting your death head on, I see."
Wyverncakes (03:23:26): "But it won't grant you a quicker death when the time comes!"

Wyverncakes (03:26:21): But at the same time, a loud creaking noise begins to sound through the battlefield.

Meraxa (03:26:50): Ataru: Great, just great.
tengusaur (03:26:56): Scaraber turns around and rushes towards the entrance to the vault!

Wyverncakes (03:28:29): The door begins to open wide, whatever's inside shrouded in darkness... and the Aposniper charges, lining up and firing a slew of energy shots at the Scaraber to keep it away!

Aero (03:29:42): * "Dreadnaught." And Willis quickly takes his usual spot, throwing Strahlend in the way of all those shots.+
cubey@aol.pl (03:30:36): *The Fubuki lunges towards the shot - but not to take them head on, rather it jumps through their trajectory... which means the anti-laser coating shield is not hit all in one place, but rather the beams move over its surface as it flies by!+
Wyverncakes (03:32:56): [Willis and Ren] Fubuki is struck multiple times... but Ren's tactic proves valid. The coating is burnt and strained at numerous places but the machine holds and thins out the crowd of shots! It helps take the edge off of Strehland quite well... the damaged spots quickly starting to reform and repair themselves... and for that matter its arm is starting to come back as well!

Aero (03:46:57): * "Well your overconfidence is only matched by...no wait I can't think of anything that matches it." Hey, remember that arm you lobbed off earlier Sagira? It's now flying up at you like some sort of rocket powered fist to knock off your aim. There was also that sword you forgot about, it's whirling up now to deflect the shots that were still on target. "Now that your barrier is down I can use my little trick." Once he was close enough a huge burst of nanomachines erupts from the machine and are all directed towards Sagira. +
Wyverncakes (03:47:27): (Ren cont.) ... But even as he goes to parry the bullet component after his barrier blocks the energy... he pauses as the entire projectile somehow passes through his shield! It doesn't last long, but long enough that the Araneonheir is still struck by the volley and knocked backwards!

Wyverncakes (03:55:18): [Willis] The Bombard's shots suddenly go high, missing the Strehland easily and knocking the machine backwards, what few that were left still easily stopped. And that nanomachine cloud suddenly blasts out once more, enveloping the Bombard! "A smokescreen? You're following up this attack with-" And... that's before the Nanomachines start doing their dirty work, wearing away at the Bombard's armored frame. There's a lot of armor there yes, but with a panicked and angry grunt the machine stumbles back and away, trying to roll to safety!
Wyverncakes (03:56:21): ... When it finally does, the Bombard's looking a lot less armored... with a massive chunk of its axe completely missing and one of its guns wrecked. "How did you.- you-... when you're all standing in the desert at my mercy yours'll be the sweetest death!"
Aero (03:56:24): And now Strahlend stumbles over, the self-repair...not quite working as well with all the nanomachines busy tearing apart the Bombard.

Wyverncakes (03:58:37): [Ren] The moment is all that you needed, and the Fubuki's blast and explosion send the Araneonheir reeling furthe! Not much damage... but that's what your explosive round is for! The Gebian General's machine gets blasted hard by the attack, the Fubuki landing gracefully as the dust settles to show the battered and strained machine.

Wyverncakes (04:00:53): Khaldun just chuckles, the Araneonheir testing all of its limbs one after another. One of them creaks worryingly before breaking and hanging limp. With its spare hand Khaldun plucks the spear out of its grasp.

VJockey (04:01:56): *Peola focuses her ki into her sword before setting up into a stance, grasping her blade with both hands before letting loose with a swing and unleashing the lash of Ki that was the Horizon Edge!&
Wyverncakes (04:02:00): "You know your stuff, but running away after one bad exchange would leave a bad taste in my mouth. Questions about what I missed out on by cutting it short!"

Wyverncakes (04:07:49): [Peola] Araneonheir's gold barrier's of little use here, but the damaged Bombard still moves, driven by Sagira's anger! It puts itself between the two machines, ki slashes stopping against its silver barrier. And from above, the Aposniper lines up a shot against the Regalis Filia... "Just a little more, General Sagira." Energy builds up more and more before the blast is fired from above, a great blast like the Sun coming down on the machine!

Wyverncakes (04:11:42): [Ataru] Nekhbet could only manage that one shot though, on account of Gold-4 opening fire on it from below! The machine darts away, this time trying to flit through Ataru's shots (though a few manage to find their mark. Its chest is struck at a few points, and a leg goes as well. But it returns fire with conventional (though mech-sized) arrows of its own in retaliation!

Aero (04:14:33): * "They keep going." Quicksilver is reformed into a shield yet again before being coated with a reflective coat and tossed towards the blast in an attempt to take off the edge of the shot.+
Wyverncakes (04:17:16): [Ataru, Peola, and Willis] Willis's impromptu shield does indeed smack into the side of the shot, splitting off part of it that crashes into the sand uselessly. The rest gets knocked back -but not without exhertion- by Peola's strike... and Gold-4's missile barrage not only kept it safe but made enough of a smoke cloud that Nekhbet didn't even see it coming until it was too late.
Wyverncakes (04:18:47): WIth a shocked grunt, the Aposniper tried -and failed- to dodge, a wing getting struck and sending it falling awkwardly to a lower altitude as its remaining wing worked to keep it it in the air.

Wyverncakes (04:29:18): Her words become a death cry, the Bombard's chest getting crushed. Araneonheir's own body is gripped tightly even through the barrier, its chest crumpling slightly more... but its barrier still took the edge off.
Wyverncakes (04:29:44): And it falls to the ground afterwards with a thud, staying there for a moment.

Wyverncakes (04:36:40): The other surviving General's voice sounds... strained. Frustrated and still intent on salvaging this, even in the face of the odds.

Wyverncakes (04:37:29): [Willis] Repairs are a good idea, yes. The Gebians aren't retreating, but attention is shifting more to Hetepheres and the new Crab Frame now, so the Strehland's once more patching itself together in peace.

Khaldun swings up his remaining weapons -spear and axe- for protection... but the axe breaks and the spear's blade is broken off as it knocks the sword away.

Ginkan SK (05:00:17): Raquel seems intent to go after the Gebian Levies to keep them off the backs of her allies who are dealing with the major enemies. HEr machine targets up anotehr one which she leaps at attemping to vault off it and then drop down again with a brutal drop kick+
Meraxa (05:02:18): Ataru: If only you people could learn. *Ataru aims for the arrow with his particle gun, whilst letting his machine gun continue rattling off fire towards the enemy unit+
Wyverncakes (05:02:18): [Raquel] Several of the Levies are indeed trying to move to assist Khaldun or Nekhbet, but the Amazon gets in their way, her leg coming down and smacking into its body hard and sending it smashing into another desert dune as the others scramble to face the machine again!
Wyverncakes (05:03:58): [Ataru and Ren] Gold-4's particle gun shot smashes into Aposniper's own, sending it off-course... and the machineguns tear through one of the machine's arms. And before Nekhbet can try to pull away... suddenly Ren's in her face, the Fubuki's blade striking out!
Wyverncakes (05:04:21): The blade bites into the bow, and after a moment's resistance breaks apart.
