Mission 068 - Those Tears That Fall in Space

VJockey (16:21:11): The Space Fortress Ambat. The hiding place of the fugitive known as Yark Dole, who is believed to be a conspirator with the UE forces.
VJockey (16:22:22): Rather than taking the usual Unity Group Shuttle, the team going into combat will be readying themselves up on the Diva as numerous allied forces converge on the targetted facility.
Wyverncakes (16:23:12): And Flit's been spending every second before the battle on making sure the AGE-1 Sparrow's prepped and in peak condition.
Wyverncakes (16:23:53): "If we can win here, then it might be over!"
Wyverncakes (16:23:59): His voice is hushed and anxious.
VJockey (16:24:06): Briefing you all on the situation is Lieutenant Colonel Grodek.
Meraxa (16:24:09): Ataru: Don't say it too loudly, or you'll jinx it.
tengusaur (16:24:43): Hetepheres: "Calm down, Flit. You will need a clear head if you want to make sure that victory will happen."
VJockey (16:25:18): "I want you all to keep your roles in mind. Given that this is most likely the UE's base of operations we can expect heavy resistance as well as the possibility that Ambat's defenses to have been refurbished and upgraded."
Wyverncakes (16:25:41): Flit: "I know, I know...!"
Wyverncakes (16:25:56): "That's why I'm trying to do this," he tells Heph.

tengusaur (16:27:38): Hetepheres: "Very good. Then, let us get rid of another threat to this planet! Expect to see the heavily-armored UE units, among other opponents."
Wyverncakes (16:28:05): Flit just clenches his fists.
VJockey (16:28:24): "The Diva will provide fire support when we can, but we'll be focusing on punching a hole through the enemy defenses with the main gun."
VJockey (16:29:25): Before the ship's captain can continue any further though alarms are ringing through the ship.
VJockey (16:30:35): "Damn... I was hoping to get a bit closer before..."
VJockey (16:30:49): "Nevermind. All ships deploy forces and engage!"

tengusaur (16:32:11): Hetepheres: "Let us do it! Make sure to fulfill the mission objectives... and to survive. That is an order."
tengusaur (16:32:31): She turns around to enter Scaraber's cockpit and take off, into space.
Meraxa (16:33:10): Ataru sighs, before firing up his unit. "Gold Four, ready to launch!"

VJockey (16:37:46): As everyone deploys they would note that the area around the fortress is downright chaos. Allied forces consisting of primarily Genoaces along with a number Daughtresses, Jenices, and a handful of MP huckbeins as well as four battleships.
VJockey (16:38:05): And they were pretty badly outmatched and outnumbered
tengusaur (16:38:18): Hetepheres: "ESUN mobilized everything it could in the time it was given. But that is apparently not enough."
frifreeman (16:38:23): Walt:"...that would be exactly your last thought before you got shot. So don't think that, guys."

Wyverncakes (16:44:31): * Not like Sparrow was optimized for ranged combat anyways. The Gundam cuts across the battlefield, firing its knee guns at a grouping of Gafrans.+
frifreeman (16:44:54): The 8th Genoace team hangs back and fires at the enemies that Flit left behid.+
VJockey (16:47:56): Flit & Walt! The Gafrans open fire with a combination of both their Beam Diffuse cannons as well as their Beam Rifles the moment they caught sight of you. Clearly you're still very much a humongous priority target. However while you do have a large amount of weaponsfire headed your way... A number of the enemy units were a little too slow to react and were repeatedly impaled on the spikes, the 8th Genoace team's support fire taking down those that you damaged rather than outright eliminated. React to the weaponsfire Flit.

Wyverncakes (16:49:48): * Shots were coming. But as they came hurtling in, Flit closed his eyes and focused. The power of an X-Rounder... he'd use it just like everything else in his arsenal! And with a flash of inspiration the Sparrow spiraled around, thrusters firing to get it up and out of UE zone of fire!+
tengusaur (16:51:25): *Hetepheres: "I will open a breach. Take advantage of distracted enemies!" Scaraber draws all four of its khopeshes in a smooth gesture and rushes forward, slashing through whatever Gafrans might be on the way without stopping! The charge ends with stabbing all four blades into the chest of a Baquto, and then slashing each of them in a different direction, for a large X-shaped strike! +

VJockey (16:52:05): Flit! The beams were closing in, closer and closer and- Nothing! They all whiff. Not even getting close enough to burn the colors off of the Gundam!

Meraxa (16:52:24): Ataru: Got it! *Ataru was no Kei, but he could keep his eyes open. He picks out several targets that might think to respond to Heph's charge, and opens fire on the Gafrans with his particle gun!+
cubey@aol.pl (16:53:27): *The Virgola uses AMBAC, its legs throwing up to hold the mobile suit in place. This lets Setsuko aim the Carver carefully - fire! Physical shells fly off to meet armors of Gafrans whose attention Hetepheres has drawn.+
VJockey (16:57:46): Hetepheres, Setsuko & Ataru! The Gafrans would find their numbers being shredded heavily! Between the kopeshes and the incoming fire from the Virgola and Gold Four very few get out unscathed. One of the leader types going down and throwing their numbers into further disarray. However... the UE redouble their attack! The Baquto Hetepheres stabbed into tearing forward despite it accumulating even more damage in order to fire off its beam spikes as close as it can before it was ripped open! A number of the remaining Gafrans proceed to open fire on the Virgola with their beam rifles, while another group rush at Gold Four along with a pair of Baquto! beam vulcans roaring before terminating into sabers that sought to slay the sniper! Reacts all around!

Wyverncakes (17:00:19): * Flit pushes the AGE-1 to the limit... there's already been too many allied casualties by the looks of things, and the Shigeru Blade swings out to cut through the machine's midsection!+
tengusaur (17:00:39): * Hetepheres raises her swords in a defensive barrier of blades, trying to intercept the incoming attacks while letting Flit do his thing. +
VJockey (17:02:24): If sound could travel through space, the sound of the Shigeru blade cleaving right through the Baquto as it made its futile attempt at the Scaraber would scream through the air as metal was shredded like a hot knife through softened butter. While her Noble Barrier was not silver, the kopeshes manage to keep the beam spikes from doing too much damage.

Meraxa (17:02:45): Ataru grunts slightly as he unleashes a load of missiles, trying to throw off the enemies hounding him from afar, whilst trying to shoot the two coming his way before they manage to swing!+
cubey@aol.pl (17:02:52): Setsuko: "Here it comes... ah!" *She throws Virgola to the side, trying to evade the shots. It starts to go up in the continuation of the defensive maneuver, spiralling around to circle the UE group.+

VJockey (17:03:29): Though it was more like it rang through your brain more than you hearing it with your ears.

Wyverncakes (17:05:00): Flit: "Wha..."
Wyverncakes (17:05:09): No, it... couldn't be...
Wyverncakes (17:05:35): Flit: "Hetepheres, I... I think someone's here on the battlefield. Someone who shouldn't be!"
Wyverncakes (17:05:52): Someone familiar, and...
Wyverncakes (17:06:28): ... Well, no matter what he's feeling, the Sparrow goes off to investigate. He doesn't know what to make of this, but if it's really happening, then he needs to confirm it for himself!
VJockey (17:06:42): Ataru! The Gafrans shift their attacks to counter the missiles and cut off their attacks... the Baquto though... one gets hit by the Particle gun in the head hard enough for it to jerk back and cease its assault. However... the other's electromagnetic armor disperses the shot enough for it to close in to attack! (React again!)

Meraxa (17:07:35): Ataru: Shi- how did-! *Ataru briefly panicks, and instinct kicks in over sense. Gold Four tries to KICK its enemy before flying backwards!+

VJockey (17:08:15): Setsuko! The shots are getting extremely difficult to evade as the Gafrans are doing their damndest to pin you down. You'll find yourself taking light damage, though your manuevering manages to keep it simply to that.

VJockey (17:09:50): Ataru! Gold Four has the Baquto's beam blades cut into it and possibly might have cut even deeper if it got any closer. The kick keeps things from getting worse but that was way WAY too close.

VJockey (17:17:06): Impact. Except the blade isn't so easily broken this time. Flit could feel the strike rattle against the Sparrow.

VJockey (17:23:28): Flit! As you rush past the Zedas.... you feel your X Rounder senses go off before a barrage of beams whips towards the Sparrow from several directions at once before you could turn! React!
Wyverncakes (17:23:55): And Desil brought more too, much to Flit's consternation!
VJockey (17:24:43): Walt! Your Team's shots rush towards the Zedas and... miss! Miss miss miss! Desil is rushing past every shot with gleeful, maniacal laughter - moving in to cut you and your friends! REACT!
Wyverncakes (17:24:44): * He turns to try to find out where, trying to kick off of the Zedas to get away fom this new barrage!+

Either way the Sparrow takes a number of hits before it can get away and there are alarms ringing through the cockpit.

Wyverncakes (17:29:47): Sparrow's not meant for taking hits, and in the wake of being shot up Flit's trying to get his bearings again.

frifreeman (17:30:04): "Gah!" Walt's team frantically fires toward the incoming zedas, while raising their shields up in a despearte attempt to defend themselves.+

Meraxa (17:32:26): Ataru: I see 'em... *Having gotten his own bearings away, Ataru spies out the pink unit, and tries to go for the headshot with Gold Four's particle gun+
tengusaur (17:32:28): Hetepheres: "Establish a defensive parimeter. Make a line and spread out, you become a target if you group up!" She takes command of a small group of allied units, standing in front of it. Time to stop them from losing. "And now... Fire!" Scaraber swings its staff, sending a large barrage of rapid lasers towards the UE forces, and supported by shots from the allies! +

cubey@aol.pl (17:33:50): *So the Virgola accelerates. "Take this! Ei!" Setsuko slams the Gunnery Carver's butt end into the Gafran her unit charges - and uses the force of impact to jump above it and hopefully break from the perimeter of surrounding enemies. She tries to reach Walt and Flit.+
VJockey (17:34:15): Walt! It was a valiant effort but the Zedas was moving too fast, one of the shots managed to scorch its armor...Barely...
VJockey (17:34:16): but
VJockey (17:36:08): You find your unit kicked extremely hard, enough to send it spinning somewhat out of control. One of your wingmen has their MS' head smashed hard enough to expose its camera, sending it in the same uncontrollable flight through space you now experience. The last is slashed in half... right through the cockpit.
VJockey (17:36:31): When the inevitable explosion happens Desil is laughing his young heart out.
Wyverncakes (17:36:59): Flit: "No...!"
VJockey (17:37:57): Setsuko! You manage to crush a Gafran's head in as you make your way towards Walt and Flit - just in time to see Desil make his kill.

VJockey (17:39:45): Heph! The troops you take command of deliver several bursts of weaponsfire - bazookas, DODS shots, Machinegun Rounds and Photon Rifle Blasts make their way to the enemy lines and knock a good amount of them around...
VJockey (17:40:00): but you soon find the enemy capital ship moving towards you and unleashing a barrage of its own
VJockey (17:40:13): and it was accompanied by the cannons of Ambat firing as well! React!
frifreeman (17:40:30): Walt: "No! Alice!"
VJockey (17:40:41): Ataru! Your shot tears through space and rushes towards the Farsia...
frifreeman (17:40:43): Walt:"Damnit... not again..."
VJockey (17:41:04): But.... Flit. You feel an intense amount of fear. Panic.
VJockey (17:41:06): a voice.
VJockey (17:41:14): one you knew far too well.
VJockey (17:41:31): Yurin.
VJockey (17:41:38): She was in there.
Wyverncakes (17:41:45): Flit: "Y-Yurin...?"
Wyverncakes (17:41:48): No, there was no way.
Wyverncakes (17:41:49): "Yurin!"
tengusaur (17:42:42): Hetepheres: "Flanks, spread. Center, behind me! Raise shields!" She spins her staff and then raises it to block the incoming energy blasts! On its own that might not be much, but the Noble Barrier switches to silver, greatly increasing her anti-beam protection! +
frifreeman (17:42:46): Walt: "Everyone! Don't panic! Hang tight! We all know we can die anytime..."
VJockey (17:43:33): (Flit, Walt)
Wyverncakes (17:43:46): Flit: "Desil...!"
Wyverncakes (17:43:54): He shouts out, charging at the Zedas!
Wyverncakes (17:44:00): "What... you couldn't--
Wyverncakes (17:44:14): Walt's wingman at least knew the risks.
Wyverncakes (17:44:21): "Why is Yurin in another suit?!?"
Wyverncakes (17:44:44): * Down swings the Shigeru Blade, trying to hammer away at the Zedas's arms!+
VJockey (17:44:52): Hetepheres! The teams quickly scramble to follow your orders, a number of troops huddling up behind you with shields raised.... sadly a few panicked as they saw the oncoming beams. While those that stayed behind you were unharmed... those that broke ranks found themselves mowed down in moments.
VJockey (17:45:26): "Why shouldn't she be~? Her being around here just makes things more fun!"
VJockey (17:45:36): "I can make her move however I want too~"
tengusaur (17:45:40): Hetepheres: "This battleship needs to go. I am going to take care of it."
VJockey (17:45:48): "Liiiike~.... THIS!"
Wyverncakes (17:45:59): Flit: "Don't!"
VJockey (17:47:11): Flit! You find the bits unleashing another barrage at you as the Farsia is used as a human shield, rapidly moving away as it was just barely grazed by Ataru's shot - no doubt scaring its pilot even further. Not only that but Decil strikes past the Farsia, opening fire from behind it!
VJockey (17:47:13): React!
frifreeman (17:48:53): Walt's team get into a tighter, back-to-back formation after losing one of their member. They start shooting at incoming enemies, moving from one target to another, spinning slowly.+
Wyverncakes (17:49:16): * Flit tries to turn and face the Zedas, but... with the Farsia in the way all Flit can try to do is bank around the side and fire its knee guns! "Yurin,how... are you working with Desil too?!?"+
Wyverncakes (17:49:35): How did she even get here? Did the UE pick her up? Did Master Albert hand her over during that attack at Legion HQ?
VJockey (17:51:19): Flit... it was a good attempt but
VJockey (17:52:04): Desil just has the Farsia jerk into the way of the attacks. The spikes punch through limbs and tear into armor.
Wyverncakes (17:52:25): Flit: "No!"
Wyverncakes (17:52:27): "Yurin...!"
VJockey (17:54:08): Yurin: "Flit! Help.. please! ... I'm scared- AAH!"
Wyverncakes (17:54:31): His blood runs cold.
VJockey (17:54:37): Desil: "I got you now!"
Wyverncakes (17:54:46): Flit: "Desil, you... WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!?"
VJockey (17:55:02): Flit! You find Desil rushing towards you with sword at the ready!
VJockey (17:56:14): Walt! With Desil preoccupied with his rematch once more, you and your surviving teammate are freed up to support the assault. The Shigeru Blade swings once to dismember the limbs, and again to cut the machine's head clean off before throwing it away! The knife slices down the Zeda's body one more time... only to break. It's not meant for prolonged use, after all... but with one last furious grunt he jams his knee in suit's chest unloading everything the limb has left and then kicks away.+

As the Diva's cannon lances out a distance away from you to destroy the wayward section of the Fa Bose to keep it from causing any more chaos - as well as a part of Ambat behind it... you utterly tear apart the Zedas as metal and limbs go flying! You hear Desil scream in terror and absolute fear as you shear the head off and proceed to absolutely devastate the machine.

Some of it struck you but minimal damage is sustained... as for the good General's atack, her weapons dig into its leg and begin to move up... but the cannon on the bottom of the machine has a few words to share with her.
